    Next Sim: Tuesday

We sweep Virginia and Wilmington. We're peaking at the right time with eight straight victories. Baltimore lost both matchups this week. Ridin' high. Six games up in the division with our magic number at eight. Even better, we didn't suffer any injuries.

Wow, a 5-1 sim. We lose our first against Hartford 18-0 and go on to win the final five. The two games after our ass whipping to Hartford, we return the favor outscoring them 26-6, lol. This game is crazy.

Three more wins and we've had the best season in my three year tenure.

1-5 week. In the one game I did win, my lineup had all of one hit. This team is awful. The Bats now fall to 75-74. Barring a huge collapse, I will still win the division. Not an achievement by any means.

Well, as soon as I brag on my starting pitching Kang, O'Conner's and Weir who'd all been consistently decent, get hit hard and take losses. Wilmington hammered my pitching in 2 of the three games I played against them in I think the only 2 games they won last sim. Luckily, Windy City and Baltimore struggled too and I still have a slim lead.

Big sim coming up for me on Tuesday as I play both Baltimore and WC. If I finish above either I'll probably make the playoffs so a good sim here and I'll be very close to clinching. I learned my leason with regard to saying anything good about my players, at least my starters, so instead - they're all bums and I'm surprised any of them have won even 5 games this year.

              Wait'll Next Year!

Furry Pigs went 2 - 4. Came darn close to 4 - 2. (I know, I know...horse shoes and hand grenades...) Looks like money is gonna be tight, so I hope I can find a few diamonds-in-the-rough in my farm system.

Swept by the Freedom in 3 tight games where I just couldn't get off against their talented pitching staff.

Took 2 of 3 from Windy City

                * Joe Arrendondo is now 5-0 (1 no decision) in his last 6 starts and looking to solidify his spot in the rotation next season

                * September call-up Ivan Reveles pitched his longest outing in his career as we continue to stretch him into a starter. The former 1st Rounder went 7.1 just 1 run on 7 hits, but took a no decision in what would eventually be a 3-1 loss to Philly

                * Brian Greenham hit his 50th double on the season

                * Wilton Harcourt breaks Danny Nelson's (1979) record for HRs in a Season by hitting his 32

                ***

Sidenote on a different team.... DAMN that Dani Alvarez in an RBI machine!

We've fallen apart in the last 1.5 months...this is depressing and I'm not sure how to change it.

Your season would be a lot different if you hadn't lost Franklin. But, everyone has injuries.

Yea, I expected him to slow down but not as much as he did in August.

                          .204, 2HR, 8 RBI.. WTF, Nick

The fix for this problem has been well understood my OOTP experts for quite awhile. All of these experts recommend benching a couple of your best players and moving your top starters to the pen for a sim or two.

In your case, you should probably bench Latham and Tandy, while replacing Nathan, Lillie and Dallyn in your rotation with, say, Cordoves, O'Duffy and maybe Joy, all from your AAA team. I know this seems counter intuitive but as I understand it is necessary from time to time to motivate a slumping team.

Let me know if you need anymore help with your team.

Sounds like great advice. Mind if I consult with you for next season?

It's so refreshing to see such consideration for a fellow competitor.
