Does it make any difference to sign coaches and scouts for the Minor league teams, since we are scheduled to make the move to OOTP 9?

I just made sure my head scout was locked up, and the guy I wanted for OOTP9.
For example Dino Yardo is really my top scout with 80's all over I believe, but he's also like 65.
I moved Joe Huber to my top scout because he's only 40, but he's also 80's in a lot of categories, and will only continue to get better.
I figure with Huber, he might not be as experienced (yet) but I've got years left with him... and with Yardo, he'll most likely retire in the next few years.California Kodiaks - GM - 1982-2013

Split with Morgantown (1-1)
Split with Wilmington (1-1)
2 of 3 from Cali (7-5 v Cali this season -- suck it, Linty)
Back to Back wins in the bottom of the 9th... kinda cool.
Pull within' 2 games of Wilmington for 3rd and 3 games of Morgantown for 2nd in the Stout. Making a late push.
Dale O'Hegarty ties Graham Tandy's 1980 record with 16 triples in a season.
Harcourt wins the IL Player of the Week
Magness and Oyos look decent again
Rumors are flying that a significant contributor to the Colonials' improvement this season may be heading out of town to join a playoff contender. The Great One!

My boys seemed to have appreciated the time off that Markus provided and are 10-4 since the break. Kind of odd that both Philly and I were fancied teams in our respective divisions got off to disappointing starts and both only just now took slim leads in our division races. I'm glad for the wild card giving me a second shot at the playoffs if I can't out last Windy city for the Bock title.
A couple of low-lights from the past two sims - I managed to blow an 8-0 lead in a 9-8 loss to Carolina the previous sim, and in an abreviated two-game set against the same team this sim allowed no ERs but still managed only to split the series. Otherwise though not much to complain about since the break.
Also, I am finally healthy not counting guys who are out for the season. Hope that holds up for awhile. Last year I really lived off my hitting but this season it has been the starting pitching that has held the team together for the most part. Kang, O'Conners, Weir and Gillespie have all been very solid and especially since the trade deadline while Haughey at 9-5, 3.62 has been more than adequate as a number 5 guy.
The top of the bullpen has been a disappointment as only Pardue of the top guys (according to my scouts) has an ERA under 3.50. But the real story of the pen for me has been journeyman Quinto Rivena 12-2, 1.80. In 5 seasons in the BLB prior to this one he was 12-12 with an ERA around 4.50 in 384 innings. He appears to have a good shot at getting more wins this season than he did in the previous 5 combined.
