And it's happening already right? What actually is happening, just guys are completely disappearing off the leaderboards? Are other leagues that made the conversion losing history after the switch?

Basically what happened is some retired players stats just disappeared. The players still exist in the DB since you can find them by searching, but there is no record of them ever having played. Search for Pete Kellum as an example.

This only happened during the last off-season and didn't seem to affect all players. Since I have backups of all our previous files (namely retired.dat which stores information for retired players) I think Markus can just merge the old files with the new files and we should be back to normal.

Still waiting to hear back though.

Look, let me just clear for the record I'm not attacking anyone or accusing anyone of anything (coughJJcough). All I am saying is give the man a break. Yeah, I'm good friends with him outside of this. But the guy knows what he can do, and if its possible, he'll do it. I say enjoy life because people show actual annoyance (real or not) when a SIM doesn't happen. I'd love to do it every day, but it's not realistic. It's just if a SIM is said to be delayed or cancelled, let it go, he has a good reason for it.

As for McCrotch now having a post without a hint of annoyance...well that might as well be the search for the holy grail.

I usually don't chime in on these because like what has been said--Andrew knows his schedule and what he can & can't do.

What I will say is for someone like myself who has never played a sim it's weird that I can't "play" the game because there isn't a sim and there's nothing to do. I'm used to when I want to play a game I fire up the console and start playing...you can't really do that with a text sim where you need to wait for the next sim. So when a sim doesn't happen it takes away from you being able to do more with the game. (not having turned on my 360 in months probably doesn't help either for someone like me since OOTP is my only real video game right now).

I don't think anyone blames Andrew for a sim not taking place but of course he's the one everyone is asking for a way to make the sim happen since everyone is looking forward to it. It's not Andrew's fault though...whether it's an issue with the file that we're waiting on from Markus or Andrew's on vacation or going to a Red Sox game...his life doesn't revolve around running the sim for us and shouldn't have to. I can't speak for the others but I know I do look forward to Tuesday's, Thursday's & Sunday's for the sim. Does that mean I don't have a life? I don't think so...it just means I enjoy the game and look forward to seeing the results of the next sim.

I have tried to follow this but with a busy weekend and going to see The Police concert yesterday, I have no idea what the hell is happening now, people adding suggestions...Andrew knowing his own schedule... some dude named Markus... I am lost. I just have one simple question or request: Can someone tell me when I need to export again.

For the record: I agree that we need to put the league on hold as long as needed to get the issues fixed, so they don't become even more of an issue later.

One of the biggest curses of layoffs is the overwhelming want to tinker. Start thinking, rethinkin, over-thinking moves... start trying to find trades that you could make work. Start mapping out the next 5 years of your franchise's history. Then, when all is said and done, you don't change a thing.

Although, as a mentioned in another thread, it's a good chance to mess around with OOTP 9. I look forward to the little things when we get it over to the BLB like tracking scouting history, news items that logs where they are in BA, the deeper financials, the streak history.... There's just a ton of new detail.

Also taken some time to play a little NCAA 09 on the 360 and I think I'm going to grab that MLB Power Pro's 08 on the Wii this weekend. That's looks pretty fun.

I exported for the Thursday sim, and have not re-exported. My file is fine.

But I have been pondering who is going to get the September call-up. This sim will take us out of August, and gives all of us a chance to see some prospects play. Exciting.

If we call up prospects do they automatically get a salary instead of the minor league contract?

Then if (when) we send them back down are they eligible for FA or Rule 5 draft?

Kind of two separate things... once they have a Major Leauge contract, the "clock" starts so to speak. They have two auto-renewel years and 3 arbitration years... after that they are FA's. Basically, you have 6 years of service time you get from them.

Rule 5 eligibility is based 100% on not being on the 40 man roster after you've had x amount of service time.
