  • No Sim Again Tonight

Still no word from Markus and I am going to the Sox game tonight. We'll have a Tuesday sim regardless of whether I hear from Markus or not. I'll then send him the updated files so hopefully he works on it while I'm on vacation.

Does this mean that Thursday's sim has been canceled instead of just delayed?

Why not just run the sim right now? This afternoon before you need to leave for the game.

That way, we at least get a sim tonight, Tuesday, and maybe Thursday before you leave? Then send the updated files to Markus, and he can work on it while you are on vacation.

      Win-win.

How about we just let him go to the Sox game, find something else to do with our lives, and somehow manage to live another day until Tuesday?

Yeah, feel free not to rush...because of this delay, I'll now likely be out of 56k hell by the time the playoffs come around, so this is actually a good thing for me.

I don't get why people can't make a comment/ask a question without getting a default "get a life" comment from you. It must be nice to be perfect. That's a ton of pressure.

I was just asking. Andrew is the commish but that doesn't mean he has thought of everything and couldn't use a different idea here or there.

The way I see it, it is highly doubtful that if Markus hasn't said anything yet, he likely isn't going to by Tuesday. Andrew is taking a 10 day (right?) vacation, and that seems, to me, like the perfect time for a "break/Markus time to respond."

No Sox game would be missed. The sim would be run immediately. The sim doesn't need to be at 9PM ET because I'm sure most owner have had their exports in since Thursday.

Thanks for the suggestion but I know my own schedule and that I wouldn't have time to run a sim today. Unfortunately Markus doesn't work on our schedule I sent him the files in response to an email he sent to me, so assumed he had time to fix it soon. If we want this issue fixed we need to be patient and give him time to do so.

Yeah, I think people need to think big picture about how much it would suck to lose the history of the league.

And it's happening already right? What actually is happening, just guys are completely disappearing off the leaderboards? Are other leagues that made the conversion losing history after the switch?

Yes and No... I think they are disappearing, but their stats are still technically attached to their profile, so it should be repairable. Then again, I'm not a tech guy... so I don't have any idea.

Because it's not suggested once...or twice...but every single time that there is a pushback for a SIM. I would think by now Andrew has a good idea of all his possible options for running it early, running it late, ect ect. If I were him I'd be pulling my hair out every time I see someone suggest that. It's not "get a life", it's more of accept it and let him have a life without the constant alternate suggestions.

But, you're not Andrew... so why don't you let him tell people that he's not looking for suggestions instead of making passive-aggressive "get a life" posts everytime a Sim is pushed back... including...in the very last one before this.... making the comment before anyone else ever even responded.

I understand that there's a certain group of guys here who are and were friends long before this league and hang out in real life.... but you're being defensive FOR Andrew when he's not being attacked. Nobody said, "**** that, Andrew! You skip the Sox game and make this happen!" or that he is somehow at fault or that anyone here expects this to be his top priority or job.... I think if Andrew feels attacked... he'll say it. If he doesn't want comments/questions/suggestions... he'll say it. But, I'd venture a guess that having active owners that WANT this league to be active because they enjoy it... is something that he very much wants.

That's all I'm saying. I agree with pushing the sims back while we have Markus' attention. I think losing the history of the league is a way bigger deal than a few missed sims. I think Andrew does a great (and often thankless) job. But, I don't think anyone is attacking him or questioning his intelligence in any way.

                            That's all I'm saying.

Don't pull my hair out, but it can be somewhat annoying. You would think after ~3 years I would get the benefit of the doubt.
