Another 4-2 SIM for the Whale, bringing us to 20-7 in our last 27 games and 3 games over .500. Keeping up on this pace, we actually have a chance to close to 85-90 wins, unthinkable for a team that started 5-17.
Starting pitching has been money. Curry, Mapalo, and Recalde all have pitched shutouts in the last few weeks. Recalde is 4-1 with a 2.02 ERA since being called up. Mapalo has barely given up a run over the last 6 starts. And Castro/Burchette are finally starting to hit, getting their averages up to .250, where they were around .210 a month ago.
Next week is the hated Bats and Wilmington. Lucky for them Curry is out for a week with an injury, so they'll face a weaker pitching staff, although we might just go with a 4 man rotation unless he can come back by Sunday.
