Another 4-2 SIM for the Whale, bringing us to 20-7 in our last 27 games and 3 games over .500. Keeping up on this pace, we actually have a chance to close to 85-90 wins, unthinkable for a team that started 5-17.

Starting pitching has been money. Curry, Mapalo, and Recalde all have pitched shutouts in the last few weeks. Recalde is 4-1 with a 2.02 ERA since being called up. Mapalo has barely given up a run over the last 6 starts. And Castro/Burchette are finally starting to hit, getting their averages up to .250, where they were around .210 a month ago.

Next week is the hated Bats and Wilmington. Lucky for them Curry is out for a week with an injury, so they'll face a weaker pitching staff, although we might just go with a 4 man rotation unless he can come back by Sunday.

After my post last week about too many minors injuries, I lost newly acquired MR Pat Tomlinson for 13 months. He had gone about 4 innings scoreless for us since coming over from Baltimore's system. He was probably going to be a September callup and would have had a chance to start the season in the BLB next year. Awesome.

Ouch. We did a physical before he left and he was fine....

Yeah prez, I've heard that before. It's gotta be his bad mechanics.

Just because I like to bitch and I have off of work on Fridays, I added up all of the injuries to guys in the minors only that would send them to the DL, basically, two weeks and up. It adds up to approx. 65 months of missed time due to injuries. It's just going to stunt the development of these guys, which sucks. Oh well.

I guess the silver lining in all of this is, imagine how many of those injuries would have been CEI's in the old way injuries were handled.

Game 3 against Pittsburgh should be Abe v Magness. Another "Present v Future" matchup... I don't like my chances though.

                      1-5 this week. Yeah.

Oh, hey. Didnt see this little nugget of information until after I posted my awesome results. That Avery guy I traded for is now out for 7-8 months. Bone chips. Now I dont have to worry about when to call him up.

Now to see how bad his ratings dive.

He's gone from an "unranked" prospect to #1 in our organization over Luis Antonio Ramirez, which is saying something. Will be interesting to see what the SISA rescout thinks. Our A team is flat stacked with hitters at almost every position.
Damn, that is a HUGE jump. Out of nowhere top prospect. Lucky ass.

Even if you sweep me... 11-6 is about 5 more losses than you expected.

Going into the season, yes. But with how my team has played all year, it isn't surprising.

Yes... but, it also limits his innings this year.

He'll be ready by spring training I believe. Just in time for you to slide him into the rotation. And who knows... hopefully he'll avoid any injury rating drops.
