After sweeping Pawtucket last sim, the Whalers went on to sweep Maine this sim in 3 games, and then split a 4 game series with Pitt. We're 12-3 in the last 15 games. Not bad for the team Pat describes as the worst off in the league. Jerk.

Also, Miguel Recalde is 3-0 with a 2.08 ERA in 3 games since being called up from AAA New Haven.

I still have 5 games on you!

Manny Puerias with an 8 IP, 10 K performance. Now I'm crossing fingers on the extension that I offered. My scouts all have him at LaRochelle type ratings so I'm not afraid to give him money (far less than I offered Larry). Should be interesting to see.

Get your VCRs ready, people. Friday night, August 3rd, Joe Aurillo vs. Joe Chavarraga as the Bats come to the Eye. The two Pale Ale contenders square off in what should be a pitching duel they'll be talking about for years.

                  5-2...

Still the best team in the Stout over the last 7 weeks.

Got the Morgantown monkey off my back with a 2-1 sim. Also took 3 of 4 from McCrotch... losing only a 1-0 CLASSIC between Oyos and Chavarraga (neither pitcher factored in the decision).
                  The Great One!

                  To many rings to count...

5-2 sim and moved to within a game of Maine in the Ale.

McNeilage has been downright filthy for me so far.

Are you gonna call up Gonzalez and Avery soon?

3-4, that's expected. 2 of 3 from Indy and then lost 3 of 4 from Dallas, who could start resting their regulars last week if they wanted to. In the little victory department, we just overtook Indy and now have the #1 farm system in the BLB, according to Baseball America of course. Speaking of, we're sellers. Big sale on discount ballplayers down at the Walmart. I'll take the best offer I get on a couple of these guys, so send any offer my way...

4-3 sim, which could of been a lot better. 3-0 against Wilmington, and 1-3 against Virginia (all games decided by 1 run)

-Michio Nago is now hitting .259, with a .689 OPS, after a red hot July in which he hit .337, .402 OBP, .920 OPS, with six steals. He might finally be coming around.

-With the addition of Thompson and Egbuhuzo, I finally feel confident in my bullpen. Both were used heavily this sim.

-CF Dan Hogan has finally worked his way back to where he was in 1982 and 1983 for the Washington Bats. In July he has hit .323, with a .991 OPS, 17 runs, 20 RBI, 5 HRs, and 7 SBs.

-In minor league news, my single-A team is getting devastated with injuries. I currently have six players OUT, and one player day-to-day.

We will see what he can do. My scouts all have him 4-6-5-5-4 (vs. RH and LH). I gave him three starts this week, all against lefties, and he did ok.

                            @ Wilmington: 1-4, HR, BB, 2 RBI, 2 R
                            @ Wilmington: 1-4, 2B, BB
                            @Virginia: 1-6, 2B, RBI, BB

Sure, he went 0-4 in his four pinch-hit ABs, but I think he actually did pretty well. .730 OPS so far. Plus, that contract he signed only costs $800K. I have $20mill in budget room. He is also solid defensively at 3B, and my fans like him. I could do a lot worse.

If he can come in, start vs. lefties, played solid defense, and go "1-4, with an XBH, and a walk" I will be really happy. Its not like I have him batting cleanup, he is the #8 hitter. Plus, starting 3B Brody Whiteley has really been struggling versus right handed pitching lately. I might give Corulla some starts in both lineups.

4-3 this past sim... including a 4-0 victory over Joe Aurillo... save that one for the scrapbooks... doesn't happen often.

Joe Toapanta went 2-0 this sim and Vizcarra picked up another win. They're definitely the future of the Kodiaks staff. We blew a game against Batavia or I'd be looking at a 5-2 sim.

Made a bunch of waiver claims... want to see what some of these discarded pitchers can still do.
