Error Exiting

So every time I exit the game it gets to "Saving Messages" at 73% and freezes so that I have to hard close it. Is this a long process or is something just messed up?

I think my updates are taking...at least it shows they are. Also is there a way to update the league via the game or do we just download the files each time?

Oh forgot. In game go to the manager's tab and in the first column there is an option to download the latest league file. Do this after Andrew posts the ever popular "sim complete."

Yea usually it just takes a while.

This game had some crazy loading times. It takes almost 10 minutes just for the loading messages screen to go away. Switching between my MP and SP game become a real bore.

Is OOTP 8 as bad?

I gave up trying to update and just dload from the site. The game takes so long I don't know if it froze or not. Works better now.

Not only do I think it is quicker, it is just more efficient. My OOTP program would freeze every so often when I would just download the file using the game.

Now, I don't have OOTP open, I download the file, unzip directly into the Brewers League folder, and then I boot up OOTP. Been doing that for the last few months and I have had much better results.

I am on a Mac and I am running OOTP 8, but I have no issues at all with speed.

OOTP 8 is significantly faster than 2007 on my Mac. 1.2ghz iBook, so its a bit old at this point. OOTP 8 has to be at least 50% faster.

Andrew... for OOTP9, I thought I remember you saying the file was going to be a lot smaller to download... any truth to that?

And will the game run faster for PC's as well as Mac's?

Not sure the file will be that much smaller. The scouting.dat is smaller but i think it stores the scouting data in a different place.

Not sure about speed. i've never had a problem with 2007/8 and haven't with 9 either so can't really say.

Hmm I thought I read somewhere on this board that the file would only be 4MB... I thought that was a bit small...

Edit: BTW, my CPU is over 5 years old and has very little in terms of memory/graphical updates over the years.
