You did a great job with the pitchers, I'll concede that. However, I've had to shortchange myself in a lot of departments because of those contracts so its not all peaches and cream. Those contracts are monsters and strap me in for over half my budget between 3 players this year, and over a 1/3 between 3 players next year. Both years, I have a 15 million dollar seat warmer, so please, don't act like you did me a favor in the hitting department.
    Give it to him!!!!

Yeah, I guess I wasn't making the right "game day changes." LOL, please. You're being carried by your awesome pitching, all of which I put together for you. I'm sorry if you had to make such heavy concessions because of how hamstrung I left you, with a great pitching staff and a huge budget spent mostly on three players, two of whom are kicking ass for you so far. Maybe you would have liked to take on a team like California instead of Baltimore. The Bulldogs look pretty peachy and creamy compared to other teams that have transferred ownership in this league.

Also, you're welcome for Faircloth and Lillie. They seem to be doing well for you. My post in this thread was mostly tongue in cheek, but you kind of had to be an asshole about it so I felt compelled to respond again.

I think he was joking too as we all knew you were. Good job putting together a team with a rich core of talent.

Yeah, I don't think anyone has ever questioned the quality of that Baltimore pitching staff. I still think Jeff Franklin will go down as one of the best ever.

I had to be an asshole about it? Right. Your post was the definition of half-joke, half asshole and I gave back exactly what you posted. You're right, I probably would have rather taken on a California, that way I wouldn't have to hear the trash about "what you did." Tandy is 31 with 75 million dollars over the next three years, Latham is 37, and Stafford, is the biggest joke in this league. There is a ton of talent that could get with that 15 million salary of Stafford, last year, this year and next year, so get off your high horse. I also had to eat 13 million in luxury tax, for those three dudes. Like I said, thanks for the pitching and I don't deny that but like I said,
don't act like you did me a favor in the hitting department.
because you didn't. When it gets down to the playoffs and I'm doing so well and then lose, guess why that'll be? The better teams don't spend 75 million dollars on two guys(Stafford doesn't even count). I too felt compelled to respond.

Well I've got a really crucial final coming up. So let me diffuse this before I go. Skerik, you know I respect you, but seriously, if the team was doing great and then I took over and they did poorly, it would be my fault. However, if the team does well, it was the previous GM? I can't buy it. Its not that much randomness in the game or else the same teams wouldn't be good every year.

I didn't have enough money to resign Lanbrin and all he wanted was 5 mil/per. The Alan Starr pickup was good and Mark Mabbett wasn't hitting leadoff when I got the team either. Thanks for the pitching, but respectfully, I can't see how its all attributed to you.

Dude, I made one tongue-in-cheek post. Take a chill pill.

'cause you don't make the right game-day changes?

Anyway, this is by far the most I've heard someone bitch and moan about a team that was 19-7. And I can't believe you actually mentioned Latham's age, given that this is the last year of his contract and he's leading the BLB in HR right now. Who cares how old he is? Oh wait, I did when I only gave him a 2-year deal. Although I suggest you resign him if he continues to lead the league in HR. Additionally, Tandy isn't exactly stealing money either considering he's 2nd to Latham in HR. You weren't around for the inception of this league like I was, but the CPU hamstrung me with a few contracts too, like Pete Kellum who stole money for the last few years of his CPU-signed contract before he retired. Working around those contracts are part of the game and everyone does it - most with a budget that is dwarfed by yours.

As for Mabbett, he was hitting leadoff for me back when he was great. Then he became not so great, so he stopped hitting leadoff. Now in the grand tradition of OOTP, he's great again so I'm glad to see he's back at leadoff for you. And as for your comment about the randomness of this game, let's just say that I'm not really the right person to talk to about that and I have a few more years of this league under my belt than you do. I look forward to your impressions about randomness in a few seasons.
