As far as waivers, I have a feeling it was largely unsuccessful. I was hoping I could see the players who were claimed in game and then fix the ones that didn't work. However, the only ones I saw all seemed to work fine.

Syracuse Slammers: Claimed C S. Houck off waivers from Hartford.
Los Alamos Bandits: Claimed SP G. Scott off waivers from Hartford.
Pawtucket Patriots: Claimed SP R. Villazuerte off waivers from Maine.
Hartford Whalers: Claimed SP T. Rundle off waivers from Davenport.
Hartford Whalers: Claimed SP H. Mejla off waivers from Davenport.

These were the only claims that went through. If you claimed somebody and it didn't work, please send me a screenshot of the email saying your claim was accepted. You can either post it in this thread or email it to commish@simgamingnetwork.com. Alternatively, the team who is losing the player can post any emails they received in this thread, in which case no screenshot is necessary.

I don't know what you mean by a "screenshot of the email saying your claim was accepted". Diesel confirmed below that he received notification that I claimed Ed Greenfield. Is that good enough or do I need to do something else to get the player?

Also, Houck, Altahirano and Soto were all claimed by Cali and I believe he should get them all if waiver claim priority is last year's record.

4-2 sim for the Wildcats, without Romo in the lineup. The pitching has been great up to this point, but we've yet to face the likes of Washington, Philly, and Davenport, so take that with a grain of salt. We have Morgantown and Washington this week, the two teams sitting in front of us. Edward McVean is dealing right now. I didn't even expect him to crack the BLB roster, and he's arguably our best pitcher now. His ratings boost was a pleasant surprise.

Makungu and Tsu had great opening weeks at AAA, and Day was solid in his AA debut.

.500 so far, but the toughest teams we face this month are behind us. Rochs joins us this week so we're looking to finish this month strong.

Swept Carolina... then got swept by Davenport... neither one is a major shocker since I've traditionally played well against Carolina.

Harcourt found his power stroke from ST, hitting 3 bombs in 4 games. Danny Nelson chipped in a couple as well.

We continue to take walks and steal bases.... finally starting to pull something in the right image.

Pitching was better all in all, just ran into solid solid hitting teams. Nate Magness made me believe in my decision to give him more run. He pitched a rock solid 7.1 before getting the thumb when he passed his pitch count limit. We'll take a high quality no decision anytime.

AAA - Nothing good to report as my only real quality prospect in Detroit is Joshua Poling - who had a good week as expected.

AA - Solid first week. Nice run for a couple highly rated prospcts - Jerry Tracy and Yoritoki Maeda. Joe Lukies, who came over from Washington in the '82 deal for Mark MacAdie, had a nice week.

A - My young left-handed pitching started the week lights out... just mowing down the competition. Great first week.

That's good enough. I just need some proof that a claim was made. Confirmation from the team losing the player OR a screenshot of the message saying the claim was accepted from the team getting the player is sufficient.

Clay may not have been surprised by getting swept by me but I sure was. He played me tough all last year including beating me 2 of 3 in the crucial (for me) final series of the season. I was only able to back into the playoffs as a result of Carolina's poor sim. I hope the sweep is indicative of how our season series will go this year.

A pleasant surprise for me so far has been the continued hot hitting of Yoshitora Kitamura. My scouts have never liked him much and he is considered one of the poorer first baseman in the league according to the positional strength chart. Based upon my scouts opinions, I thought his solid season last year (.302, 18 Hrs, 98 RBIs while missing 3 weeks on the DL) was an aberration. I was even involved in serious negotiations with Pittsburgh for Nazaire figuring I would need a replacement. But so far so good for Kitamura this season as he hit .348 the first sim and won IL slugger of the week in the last one while easily leading my team in RBIs.

It makes me wonder if something goes on in OOTP that is not explained by the ratings. It seems like he has played above the level his ratings suggest he should for too long for it to be just good luck.

I do remember winning some games at the end of last year that I had no right winning, but, bigger picture... I've always struggled against Davenport (and Los Alamos)... and played Carolina tight. For whatever reason... and things started out pretty bleak with Batavia... so... I hate the Bock.

1B Escoba was claimed by Dallas but he seems to have cleared waivers on Los Alamos' end.

I've seen it with John Handley. The guy put up solid numbers while winning ROY, but my scouts have him 4s across the board. Guys like Bargenquast, Caines, and Maris are all rated higher according to my scouts, but don't put up the numbers offensively that Handley does.

Ratings don't always tell the whole story.

I tried to claim two guys off of waivers, but didn't get anyone... Oh well, not that big of deal. My starting pitcher that I was going to release stepped it up this sim, and seems to have better morale. Another 4-2 sim for our new franchise in Morgantown, I'll take it!

Saltines out in LF has been a huge surprise for us so far, hopefully he keeps it up.

Like Diesel... it goes both ways.... look at Stafford. He should not be nearly as bad as he is. You also get those guys that have like a 6 in Avoid K and Discipline... but strikeout 150 times. I think it's a wicked cocktail.
