  • SIM COMPLETE - 1984 - Regular Season 2

    Next sim: Tuesday

I'm having a problem with the html extracting but don't have time to fix it tonight.

As far as waivers, I have a feeling it was largely unsuccessful. I was hoping I could see the players who were claimed in game and then fix the ones that didn't work. However, the only ones I saw all seemed to work fine.

Syracuse Slammers: Claimed C S. Houck off waivers from Hartford.
Los Alamos Bandits: Claimed SP G. Scott off waivers from Hartford.
Pawtucket Patriots: Claimed SP R. Villazuerte off waivers from Maine.
Hartford Whalers: Claimed SP T. Rundle off waivers from Davenport.
Hartford Whalers: Claimed SP H. Mejla off waivers from Davenport.

These were the only claims that went through. If you claimed somebody and it didn't work, please send me a screenshot of the email saying your claim was accepted. You can either post it in this thread or email it to commish@simgamingnetwork.com. Alternatively, the team who is losing the player can post any emails they received in this thread, in which case no screenshot is necessary.

Bill Fyson gets a no hitter in his second start for the Clowns, and on the week he picked up 2 wins. Unfortunetly, we only got 2 wins this week. And Adron is out for 2 months. Good times!

Another sim, another injury. Former first round pick Cristian Perez is the latest, out 3 months with a fractured eye socket. Our lineup isn't good enough to lose three starters in 2 weeks.

Bullpen is awful. And we just basically stink. And now we do a 12 game road trip.

But hey, we got a guy in A that already has 23 RBI in 5 games. Woot!

Ugh, I got ANOTHER injury- Scott Neville is out for 7 months i.e. the season with a herniated disk. I haven't had an injury free-sim yet. I'd contend I'm the most injury plagued team in the league.

Also, I got yet another email about a player taking a talent hit. I'm still waiting for an email with good news at some point. My minor league development stinks.

On the bright side, Don Stevens picked up his second win on the season when he limited Indy to 2 runs in 6 innings and struck out 5. He's got a wicked mustache now, an indication of his great maturity (at 18 years old!). I have him on a pitch count right now which I plan to keep for this season. I took the series from Indy, despite getting no-hit in the 3rd game.

All in all, 5-7 and in last place. Not bad considering the injuries.

Also, next sim marks the return of 1982 Fresh New Brew Benigno Ramos! He's back in my lineup in this export

4-2 sim, I like the way we're heading. Although I've got to find some production from 2nd/3rd base. Anyway, Franklin has a tender shoulder, he's day-to-day, but I really don't want to take any chances.

Obviously Linty's claims didnt go through. He made a claim on Soto and Soto cleared for me.

And I got Houck - which is great - but if we went by last years schedule then Linty gets him.

EDIT: Actually - I got a message saying California claimed Soto. But on my transactions screen, it says he cleared waivers. Dunno.

I'll take another 5-1 sim. My bullpen is straight filthy right now.

Tim Nathan must be loving his new contract extension. Playing great on the mound.

Also looks like I might have a new starting pitcher....remember this name:

Seth Nelson. He's been awesome at every level and now he's dominating AAA. Bill Faircloth may get traded or demoted soon, because he's the weak link on my starting rotation.

Another 3-3 week. Lorral seemed to be going only about 4 innings a start... turns out in ST I put him on a pitch count of 75 pitches... also forgot to turn it off when the season started... hopefully he'll start to pick it up now that his pitch count is off.

6-6 for the Kodiaks... Lanbin still the only player with a bomb so far... but he's got 4... so we're happy about that.

                        It's not a big deal...

Infact, I'm glad I didn't get Soto... I don't feel like paying his contract.

I do want the guy from Washington I claimed... but if not, I don't really care.

A 24 run game for Los Lunas at Hartford! Very nice to see that:) Taking 2 out of 3 against Hartford and then losing the series 2-1 to Maine is about what I expected for the team. Maine looks like an excellent ball club overall (shut us out in two straight games), glad they aren't in my division.

Although I'm sitting third in my division I'm happy to see my new team get off to a 6-6 start. I've had to hit the ground the running ()in this league but I think I'm finally starting to see where my teams strengths (pitching!) and weaknesses are for the time being. Looking forward to seeing how this season plays out.

                            3-3 sim, one injury.

                            The Good
-Won two of three against Batavia
-Starting pitching = not one starter with ERA over 3.20
-Youngsters Grounds and Nago are hitting, .311 and .273

                            The Bad
-Lost my only LHRP for seven weeks.
-Two-time Stout Slugger, 1B Joe Sierra is hitting .188
-Catcher Keita Uchiyama is hitting .111

                            The Amazing
-Catcher Jerry Fortin continues to just rake it. He is hitting .381 with a 1.220 OPS. Because my export didn't go through, he only started two games this sim. He is now the Washington Bats starting catcher. Uchiyama is going to have to work his way back into the lineup.
Not the best sim. Lost one of my RPs for 7 weeks.

                            ***

                            I received emails that:
-Cali, Hyundai, Pawtucket, claimed RP Anselmo Altahirano
                            -Dallas claimed SP Joe Valdes
                            -Davenport claimed RP Ed Greenfield
                            -Hartford claimed RF Ramon Lucero

                            (All have been DFA'd)
Also, my export did not go through, which is unusual.
