IIRC, I think you just copy the image pack to Applications --> OOTP 8 --> Saved Games --> Brewers.lg --> news --> html --> images. You just copy all the files right into there. I'm going to test it now, OOTP 8 is so much faster, maybe I"ll actually be able to run the facepack.
I'm excited. OOTP 8 is at least twice as fast, if not 3x or more than OOTP 2007. OOTP 2007 it would take at least 5 minutes for me to open it and get the game loaded. 8, its like 2.
I'm on a 1.2ghz G4 which is no speed demon, but its not that bad. OOTP 2006/2007 were the only apps I've really felt the need to get a new CPU. (Other than normal games)
The Mac OS version is now a universal binary, meaning that Intel processors are directly supported. Our Mac beta team has been frankly astounded by the performance improvement. Speed has also been increased for PPC-powered Macs as well, and support for mouse scrolling on Macs has also been added!
Sounds like it'll run great on Mac's from now on.

Mahoney... apparently OOTP9 will run just as fast if not faster on Macs than PC's this go around.
I forgot what Markus said in the newsletter, but it certainly sounded promising for MAC users.
OOTP 9 is going to be the first universal version of OOTP I believe. Unfortunately this doesn't always mean that it'll be a ton faster (as is the case with the Word and Excel) but it'll be faster to be sure.
Thanks a bunch Mahoney. I think that should work but I'll let you know if I'm still stuck.
Glad to help. I can't complain after I had to keep borrowing the wife's laptop for the first OOTP version we started w/ in the BLB, to then getting a mac version, then getting a mac version that works well. Now OOTP 9 looks promising. Macsomjrr, what Mac are you running?
Sorry I missed the Mac party! I am now running pretty much exclusively on a Mac, although I have the PC option as well. OOTP9 on a Mac is UB and it is smokin' fast! You should all get one just for OOTP9!
(Someone needs to push Mac now that Robby is gone )

I'm thinking of getting an Intel Mac, but I just can't justify it. My 4 year old iBook G4 runs like a charm, now that I bought new hinges for it since I cracked the old ones in half. I could sell a couple of my APPL shares to buy one.
I'm prob going to get an iPhone in June though, doubt we'll have OOTP for that though.

OOTP for the iPhone! Now there is an idea!
I'm running OOTP 8 on a 2ghz Macbook Pro (1gb ram). It is decently quick to load up (15-20 sec range) but all my other apps are much quicker with the notable exception of Word (and maybe Photoshop but that is a hefty app anyway) so I'm looking forward to OOTP 9.
On the topic of iPhone's I can't recommend that lil' technological marvel enough. I've had mine since it was released and it easily ranks as my all-time best technology purchase:) You may want to wait a bit though cause a 3G version should be coming out soon, potentially at WWDC in a few weeks. May have some other neat features besides 3G too!
