  • He's out till Wednesday.

I'm fine with it, but it will mean delaying the draft at least a week.

    • I tried moving up to get a guy I thought had some good potential. I was shocked to login this morning and see I got him with the last pick in the 2nd round so hopefully he pans out.

I didn't realize he would be gone for so long. I don't think we should delay the draft that long for him. Maybe someone should check to make sure his stratagey settings are reasonable and let his head scout have at it.

          • I auto picked for him. Matt is around today but is taking a short vacation from tomorrow until Wednesday of next week. Batavia filled out a draft list in the utility but not sure how good it was. I'll let Matt decide what he wants to do beyond this pick.

            • I hate fishing for feedback but any thoughts on my 2nd round pick SP Vic MacGregor? I really wanted MR Christian Ramirez but diesel took him the pick before. Just wondering where others saw him, etc. etc., trying to get a feel for how bad my draft skills might be.

              • Like any real draft... you never know for years.... but if it helps...

My top "Pitching Scout" was not impressed. Had him in the bottom third of all pitching prospects. Decent control... moderate stuff... no movement.

                • I have two scouts rated 75 in pitching. Both have him at 4-2-5 potential.

                  • I'm not going to lie, I wasn't high on the pick. All my scouts had him 4-2-5. And for the record, there are still plenty of 4-4-5, 5-4-4, 3-5-5, 5-5-3, SPs out there.

For Rhodes, my scouts had him 4-5-5-5-4, with amazing speed. I like the pick.

For Morgan, three of my top four pitching scouts had him 4-3-4, with two lower scouts having him 5-5-5 and 5-4-6. He has good endurance and hold runner, but an awful ground ball.

I like the Rhodes pick a lot more than Morgan.

                        • Yeah. My head scout (80 pitching 80 pitching potential) has him at 5-4-6 as did the other scouts I used for the draft. But I had a feeling it was a big reach, which is why I was (am) pissed about Ramirez going the pick earlier to Washington. My second choice came down to MacGregor or C Negron, who went a few picks later. Oh well, you live you learn. Thanks guys.

                          • I think Rhodes was a great pick at this point in the draft. If he develops well, he's an absolute steal.

                            • With our third round pick we took SP Mario Arseneau.

All my scouts had his as 5-3-5. Could potentially challenge for a bullpen or 4th/5th starter role someday with the Kodiaks.
