  • Suarez is a completely off the radar pick from our perspective, but, again, have to give a team like Maine the benefit of the doubt on finding talent...especially as low in the 1st as they usually pick.

Matsui is a nice pick by Wilmington. I had Matsui and Arlen Spencer in the same tier... with Spencer showing a little more control to Matsui's slightly better "stuff". Wilmington needs young arms and I think this is a great pick.

    • I was torn between Matsui and another pitcher, but the other pitcher was more of a flyball pitcher.

Yeah, I didn't base my pick off of it, just thought it was interesting what a difference it was.

Do you know this a** hit .063 in ST??? .063, really? Are you kidding me? I don't know how to take him off my active roster without releasing him or and he won't take a minor league spot either. By the way, he makes 15 mil this season and next.

Waive and Designate for Assignment. Once he clears waivers... and he will... just drop him on AAA.

                  • Ha... he would. Except Stafford would refuse his assignment.

                      • He can after he accumulates a certain amount of service time, which he has.

Tried that last year. He cleared waivers, of course, and refused to go to the minors. What an a**. I could choke Skerik right now. I mean Stafford not Skerik is the a**, BTW.

Clay why'd you bring that up anyway?

All players have the right to refuse assignment to the minors after 5 years of service. I think Baltimore should just release him and go into the red if necessary. Releasing a player shouldn't have any effect on cash flow since I am sure that IRL the salary due for future years doesn't have to be paid until then.

Wear it like a badge of honor... it's not your fault. I had to live through the Virginia National Park and Eric Cafferty's 14 year contract jokes for my first season or so... then you start making your own screw ups and we can rip you for those.
