Harcourt will get voted in... at least he should.... depending on how the next month goes....

Greenham would have to be a Manager pick because it's hard to call him one position (C/1B/RF)

Errol Blue may be in the running as well

Highly unlikely. There are 10 RPs in the IL, qualified relievers, with ERAs under 1.50.

McSwain might have a shot though.

            Still early.

ERA is ERA and, yes, it is still too early. Blue has been my best pitcher when you actually look game by game at the situations he comes into and what he does when he's in.

Now, I admit that won't be obvious to people voting or picking... I'm just saying.

But, that being said, McSwain has been good too.

I remember I scouted Indy last season when I added Haughey and Pardue for the stretch drive and my scouts really liked McSwain. I didn't need another lefty in my pen at the time so he didn't enter into our trade discussions but I was very surprised that you were able to pick him up for little more than a song. Good move.

Yeah, we like McSwain... but my bullpen is a test of "how much do you believe in morale?" I have 4 guys (Carlton, McSwain, Blue and Solozano) who all believe they should be the Closer and, therefore, don't stay happy long during the season.

Does anyone know if players being unhappy about their role on the team has any affect on the game besides their willingness to negotiate an extension?

I drafted him. Doesn't do me any good now though.

I sure think it does... of course I have no proof, but the more guys that become unhappy... the more I seem to lose imo. Course... it could be the other way around... but usually when one starts happening, the other follows close behind.

If we could figure out which came first we might be onto something. I always thought it was the losing that caused the unhappiness not the other way around but who knows?

I know I'm the last one to make a comment on such a small sample size, but that's another big difference between Baltimore '84 and Baltimore '84. Everyone...I mean everyone was either angry or unhappy and asking to be traded. That is no longer the case. Although, we've been on life support so far in May.

McEvoy was pissed and he was pissed about losing last year. But he resigned with me before F/A last year.

I really don't know how much that matters.

Yeah, I think it's Chicken and the Egg. Is he pissed because he's losing or losing because he's pissed? I can't speak on it because 90% of my guys are pissed by April 15th.
