Interesting way for Cali to end the year. 14 game home stand followed by a 10 game road trip to close it out.
Are you talking the end of the season by calendar? Or like when your season is unofficially over around May?

If Philly doesn't win his division by at least 25 games, he should be banned from the league.

Yeah, we go on the road 20 of 28 in September. Probably won't be in the race anyways, but with the wildcard, you never know.

The Wildcard will make things interesting.

Washington and Philly should win their divisions. I'll go with Davenport in the Bock, with the Wildcard going to Los Alamos or Carolina. That division will be tight, though. I hope we're better than last year, and should be with a healthy Gorrie and Delarruz, plus the addition of the rookie Alvarez. I still think we're a year away.

In the DL, I'm going with Maine, Sin City, and....wait for it....Indianapolis. I think they'll get it done. WC to Pittsburgh or Hyundai.

FYI, I re-uploaded the league file so it includes all the messages. You might need to download it manually since the in game date didn't change. Exports from both copies will work fine so no need to update if you don't care about the messages.

Brutal stretch that includes a 12 game roundtrip that takes me to Davenport, Washington, Wilmington and my first ever 4-game series with the Mohawks. I have another 12 game trip later in the season as well... but a couple nice homestands to balance it out including one around the All Star break and a nice run to end the season.

You guys write as if these are real players becoming fatigued by all that travel. Does anyone know if there is actually a home field advantage in OOTP and, if so, how significant it is?

The impact for me is greater by virtue of the early road trip and it's impact of gate. My attendence, assuming I'm bad again, will be much, much better early in the season... as it has been the last two seasons. MUCH better early. Therefore, I need to take advantage of the maximum pull that I can when interest is still high. Long homestands late in the season playing to 6000 people are not nearly as fruitful as the dates when I'm still playing to 22-29,000.

I called Indy as a playoff team in my "Predictions for '84" thread and that was before adding a legit hitter in Hiraki. I like that team.

Looks like the Morgantown Mohawks are definately building around their bullpen. Their Top 5 salaries all belong to guys who will pitch in relief. Not a bad strategy with suspect starting pitching that curse most expansion teams.

Yeah my starters are just there to bean batters for the 1st couple of innings, and create some injuries...

Drafting in baseball can be overwhelming. Any suggestions on how to keep track of my needs?

                          Simple.

Don't ever draft for NEED in baseball.

I mean do you guys just look at straight potential? Are there any basics to finding that "diamond in the rough?" I mean everyone with good potential should be gone in the first couple rounds, right?

Pretty much. After that, it's trying to find a guy that at least one of your scouts likes, then pray that he develops into what that scout projects. It's hit or miss, mostly miss.

So do good scouts make that much of a difference in this game?
