Anyone else monitoring the Free Agents' preferred offers? Looks like our '82 expansion teams are looking to make a splash.

Also looks like there are some significant names who aren't being bid on at all. Too bad they won't lower their demands.

My strategy is the same... I look through all of the players and anyone I find who "Favors Washington Bats Offer"... I bid on them.

I've bid on a couple big name players, but they just laugh at my offers. I understand I'm no where close to their asking price, but sometimes you just have to take what you can get.

I made one lowball offer to a big name this sim just for shiggles. We'll see what he comes back with.

It'll be interesting to see what happens. I know we have the debate every year during this time period asking if this is the year we see a top FA price his way out of the league and it hasn't happened yet. I don't see any reason why some of these guys would get offered the 15 mil+/year they're requesting when neither their ratings or stats suggest they should receive such offers. Of course that hasn't stopped anyone from overpaying before. I have to figure if enough time passes without getting an acceptable offer, they'll wise up and take the best offer available. So far the only responses I've gotten are laughs and the "Wants More $$" reaction in the pending offers screen.

I've already handcuffed myself with a terrible contract once and I'm not going to spend another 1/4 of my budget on an overpriced FA just to make a move.

Just a couple of dudes, nobody important. I've lost just as many to other orgs :) I'm just trying to fill out my minor league rosters so its nobody huge.
