It's early in the season, but the CHAMPS are 10-2 with a 3.5 game lead already.

Pitching is the name of the game in Los Lunas so far this year. The Javelinas lead the Domestic League in every major pitching category.

Surprisingly, Alonzo Gugierrez (Gugs) is 1-2 and has the highest ERA on the team. But, based on his performance last year, and in the playoffs, he'll come around.

Superstar catcher Sergio Lumar had a great week. Hitting .409 with an OBP of .458 and 2 HR's. Not a bad week!

So far, it looks like the few moves that were made in the offseason, may have been all that was necessary.

3-3 week, last place. Dallyn and Chance are killing it on the mound, but the team isn't hitting HRs and we're 1-5 at home. That's bound to change when the weather warms up!

The BIG injury news is Davenport's big signing this year, SP Broderick Joyce who signed a 5 yr/71 Million dollar deal is out for the year with a ruptured tricep tendon. Ouch! He made two starts this year and ends the year with an 18.00 ERA. He only lasted 2 innings in his first start. Tough loss.

We just endured a 5 game losing streak but finished strong. Last April we weren't so good anyway, we're slow starters. Still only .5 game out after playing terribly.
