Just got this today. What's the plan?

We are proud to announce the start of pre-ordering for OOTP 9!

The game is currently in beta testing and will be released in Spring 2008. The pre-order price is just $24.99, a substantial saving over the anticipated list price of $39.99.

From what I've seen so far, it will definitely make sense to upgrade. The scouting system, player development changes and a few other features are all things we've been asking for.

Right now, I doubt it will be released in time for our 1984 season, so the tentative plan will be to upgrade after 1984. Maybe we won't have to be guinea pigs for once and let other online leagues find the major issues.

So if you're planning on sticking with the league beyond 1984 it probably makes sense to pre order now and save yourself a few bucks in the long run.

I think we should agree now to not even consider upgrading till '85. Even if it drops in the next month... 84 is a HUGE season... new teams... new divisions... new playoff system... let's get through it first.

Agreed. We definitely won't be upgrading until after the 1984 season.

I agree- also, who knows exactly when the game will drop? We could be waiting for the game before starting the season. Hopefully, by 1985 the bugs will have been zapped anyway. No sense rushing.

Word! So does this mean we'll finally be able to have international scouting if everyone is in favor?

I'm in favor of international scouting if OOTP9 does it right.

I agree that we wait till 85 even if 9 is released tomorrow. Best to wait out the bugs that could hurt the league.

I also agree with Andrew that if you plan to stay in this league then preorder now, even if you don't plan to play solo. Save the bucks. It's going to be a $15 savings.

Waiting certainly makes sense, but I think those basic changes that Andrew mentioned will be well worth the wait.
