When does free agency start? There are a couple of good players that could help me out. Plus I've got money to blow since Kellum is gone. Now if Stafford would either put up or get the hell out I'd be happy.

You won't be charged their option year. Just declining the option isn't enough as the game seems to have a problem handling this correctly.Denver Bulls

It's the same thing, whether you release or decline the option. The player is entering the free agent market.
I had to do some last minute scrambling last season when Joe Stapley's option didn't decline and I still had him on my roster. Luckily, for some reason, the game allowed me to release him without taking a financial hit. Maybe because it was during free agency and Stapley could make the money back? I don't know and I don't care. I escaped that mistake.
So now I always make sure to release the player when it's a Team Option.Denver Bulls
