We just made up 3 games in 1 sim. We need 3 more in the final sim. With a (hopefully) resting Washington team with nothing to play for and a California team with, well, nothing to play for I like our chances of winning some games.
Now Davenport and Carolina losing is a different story.
I'm shutting down my #1 and #2 SPs, and going with a six man rotation of lesser talents. On offense, I am giving most of my older guys quite a few days off.
If I lose someone to injury this last week I am going to blow a gasket.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

-- Props to Washington for clinching! Good luck in the playoffs!
-- Tough break on Rick Hoover. While he is easily the biggest name to go down to a CEI, you can almost make a case that it's one of the more realistic ones. He has been somewhat injury prone and his two most serious injuries have also been to his "Arm" (by the games definition -- one should, one elbow). Sucks to see a player of his stature go down. I know that I have a 12-13 monther, if not career coming to Danny Nelson someday. He's had a worse injury history. Props to Hyundai for the right attitude about the whole thing.
-- I can't believe that 3 of 4 divisions are going down to the last week including a 3 dog race in the BOCK. Really bodes well for Washington to be able to rest his horses this last week.
-- My 6th Rounder from this last draft, Catcher Marlon Todd, who was one of my pleasent surprises on the farm, grabbed a nice ratings boost this sim and jumped from completely off the radar to Baseball America's #65 rated prospect. The Great One!

SS Noah George hits for the cycle in a 5 for 6 day. Being new to the league, I got curious and looked at the league history. There are a TON of cycles. I bet there's been 25 cycles in the almost 6 years (I didn't count).... but only 8 no-hitters. Seems unbalanced, but I'll take what I can get.
4-3 sim and I'm really impressed with a lot of our young guys and/or former bench players who've been put into starting duty, including OF Napler Soleano, a throw-in in the Cuevas/Tibaldi trade with Maine, who has hit .319 with a .395 OBP as our lead-off guy since coming over. We've let go of a lot of solid BLB talent, especially bats, so far this year, but we're still competing well and now with the #1 farm system, things are looking up for Syracuse.Charlotte Knights - OSFL

I feel bad for Davenport though. I play Carolina to finish out the season, and he will be facing these three guys at SP.

Only one is a rotation regular. Another is one of my MRs. And the last, a September call-up. Not what you would typically get when facing Washington, but they should do OK.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

It looks like I'll also catch a break and miss Jeff Franklin against Baltimore, which is nice.
I really thought the race was over 2 sims ago when we were down 6 games I believe. I thought at the time we needed to get to 95 wins to have a realistic shot, which would mean at least a 15-4 record to close the season. Since then we're 11-2. Who knows if we'll finish it out and make the playoffs, but we've given ourselves a chance.Washington Bats, 2013-

If Jeff Franklin is still taking his start at this point, B'More fans should revolt! They have nothing to play for. Wilmington has gone total newbs and dropped below them for the higher pick. I'm ready to sit any decent player I have to get through this last sim without a CEI. Franklin should be out.The Great One!
