  • SIM COMPLETE - 1983 - Regular Season 23

    Next sim: Tuesday

Lost another game in the division lead despite finally having a winning week. Pittsburgh just isn't losing right now. Frustrating thing is we have an 8 game lead in Pyt Record, but are 2 games behind in the division.

    Lame

Another one of my high picks from the last two drafts takes a ratings hit- my coaches must stink becasue I've had nobody get bumps. All of the prospect updates have been bad news.

    Very frustrating

We went 4-3, that's not bad. Davenport went 7-0, that is bad. If the fat lady isn't singing, she's certainly warming up.

We lost Herbert Dunlop for the year, that sucks. He was only a rental, but I'd at least have liked to get a healthy half season out of him since he was playing pretty well for me.

Oh, my AA squad lost the championship after being up 3-2 in the series. They lost two consecutive extra-inning games after that.

At least I won a series from Maine and played spoiler- those are the only positives I'm going to take.

The prospect stuff, like real life, is maddening.

Pretty bland sim as I expected...

My Single A team did win their championship though, so that's a positive.

Bob Latham is hitting .275 with 7 RBI's in two weeks for us... I'm happy for the guy.

finished my rough stretch by going 7-7 (pending the last game vs. Maine). stayed only 4 games back with 19 games left. Keppel is finishing RED hot, just got Hoover back from the DL, and i don't face a single team with a better than .500 record the rest of the way. i got a shot!

on a side note, what a nutty game vs. Sin City
              http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/...e_box_832.html
i won 18-16. This is after Sin City took the lead in the top of the 9th on a 3-run shot by Shinamius. Then in the bottom of the 9th, it ended up going

              walk on 4 pitches
              walk on a full count
              fly out
              walk on 4 pitches
hit by pitch (1 run scores)
              ground out fielders choice
              grand slam

              wow what a game.

              on another note...

jeez. 23 runs on only 16 hits, aided by 15!!! walks.

I hate how me and Maine are going down to the wire. I wish I just knew what was going to happen now.

1-6 for Wilmington. I'm convinced we're tanking for draft position. I wish Davenport, Maine, and Denver would do the same.

I think I hit import instead of export...which sucks cuz I was looking forward to my callups. But we're all set now.

Murcott has now hit in 11 of the 12 games he's appeared in for the Colonials. .426 so far. Not sure he can do it for 4 seasons at $18.0 per, but I had a good feeling about him in our park.

Hernando was "meh" in his first couple games. Godofredo Martinez, on the other hand, made his BLB debut with 8.0 innings of 2 hit shutout work against the bats. Rock solid.

Worst sim all year...1-6. I was happy when we were sticking around .500...I'd be happy if we can get close to that again before the season's over. Lost my 2B for 2 weeks. It's actually ok though 'cause I'll bring up a prospect to get him some time in the bigs.

Davenport lost Gillespie this sim, and Pardue last sim. That sucks.

"The Skull's" expectation has officially changed to "PLAYING IN THE MAJORS". That kid is going to make me wreck him! I swear. I'll do it! I'm that kind of irresponsible!!!

Give him a shot. He could be a Tardif or Franklin. Although, I don't think anyone has gone from the draft to the bigs in less than one season.
