As a general rule you should only add players to your 40-man roster when you have to. Either because they will be eligible for the Rule V draft if you don't and you want to keep the player or if you want to call them up to the bigs.

I seem to recall you writing "Bye bye playoffs" after a bad sim a few days ago. I didn't notice anyone else disparaging the Millers chances of an upset.

Should be an interesting finish. I was surprised to see the playoff odds calculator still has the Millers as a 3 to 1 dog in the division but the power rankings have them several slots above Maine. I guess the power rankings are skewed towards very recent games.

Right. You don't want to make AA and A guys a September callup because once you add them to the roster, it starts the clock on their option years. Typically I only callup guys that are already on the 40 man roster, or that I'm planning on bringing to the bigs next season.

The playoff odds calculator looks primarily at Pyt Record I think which is why they still have me as the heavy favorite.

I'm not surprised to see Pittsburgh nipping at Maine's heels. We get to play spoiler this week with two against Pitt and we start a three game set against Maine on Sunday. We don't care who's chances we ruin, as long as our young guys step up and make some noise heading towards next season, like Mac Winson, who just got a ratings boost. Too bad he couldn't hit a lefty to save his life right now.

I know people (cough...Riverman...cough) mock my penchant for the little "punch and judy hitters" in the league. But, my boy...the 1983 IL Refreshing New Brew... Dale O'Hegarty had a balls out sim this week playing in all 6 and hitting an impressive .538/.613/.577/1.190 from the lead-off spot. Granted... only 1 of his hits this week was not a single (it was a double)... but when we put some more talent around... this kid is a world class table setter.

              OK... that's all I have.

You can change it to look at actual records though.

Doubt it. But I'm probably playing less young guys in September than most other out of contention teams, so I can still make it happen.
Totally forgot about the expansion teams, whoops. You're right

I'm sure robby wasn't happy when he saw O'Hegarty in another uniform too. He's a solid player.

Hell yeah... I'd put him on the DL. Don't even leave him on the bench and risk the AI throwing him in. That Day-to-Day to a "Real" Injury thing is killer.

I think you should run him out there every 3rd day.

                        Kid needs the innings.

                            He's on the DL now

It gives me some time to audition some other guys for the rotation anyway :)

Virginia's auditions for the September rotation are eerily similar to the first few episodes of American Idol.

I gather that is not a complitment to how the young hopefuls have been looking out there.
