I believe diesel had two sims to sign Sierra when he declined his option last year.

You have about 1 month or so in-game time. The options kick in the first day of the offseason (day after championship ends) and the FA filing happens sometime mid/late November.

I think it will be 2 sims again.

          - Start of off-season to just before arbitration (to give people a chance to release arbitration eligible players for free)
          - Then from just before arbitration to Rule 5 (FA's file during this one)

The expansion draft will also happen during this 2nd sim.

I believe he would have to clear waivers for that to work because he'd still be on your 40-man. You can waive him though... I swear I won't claim him.

Nah, he still has options. Can be sent down whenever spot wants. Can't imagine he'd be too happy about it though.

Says you! You're not on the verge of losing him with no money to resign him!

I don't think I'll realistically be able to do it and have a shot at the playoffs. If we completely fall apart then I might consider it but I don't want him to get ornery with me either.

He has more than 5 years service time though, so he has the right to refuse an assignment to the minors, which I imagine he will.

I'd love to keep Cirlos, but his price has gone way up as the year has gone on and I doubt I can afford him. He was a free agent just two years ago, and I got him back for only 1.3 mil/year. Not a bad deal.

Now I believe he's asking for my first born in the next deal.

The thing that will be interesting to monitor will be the effects on Free Agency as the big budget teams continue to overspend. I know most of the big budget teams are at or close to budget already, which should dramatically change the number of teams that will be able to bid year in and year out.

I thought it was a typo at first. It's Los Alamos.
