It wasn't about being personal. Sully is just dumb.

Washington - playing middle of the pack baseball for 2 months. Even Wilmington has been 6 games better. A lineup filled with the underachieving Lamberts, Taracena, Grounds, Lippincott, Hogan, Rogado...

Hyundai - tough spot for them. No money, very little prospects. Pitching has been sub-par, and Denver and Sin City both improved.

Pittsburgh - played lights out baseball for the first two months...and still couldn't shake the Guides. I expect Maine to start to run away with it from here. I could be wrong, though.

Los Lunas - 7 games back, and they couldn't decide if they were selling or buying. Obviously, he thinks his current team is good enough to climb back in it. I don't.
You dig a little deeper. What about all the teams that are out of it that neglected to make a deal? Teams like California and Baltimore are completely out of contention, but neither made a trade to improve for the future. Are they not losers?

And what makes a team like Pittsburgh a loser? Maine is a by far better team, and according to the pyt record, is bound to improve. Maine isn't going to be as good in 1983 as 1984, as they will have to let some talent go. If Pittsburgh doesn't think it can reach Maine without blowing up the farm system this year, why should they?

And what makes a simple trade a winner and a loser? You didn't mention a single team in the loser section that made a trade.

Yeah, you're right. We will just have one person put up their opinion of the winners and losers of the deadline, and thats what we will go by. I disagreed. In my opinion, the biggest losers are 1.) teams that are completely out of it and don't make a deal, and 2.) teams that think they are in it and overpay to bring in talent that won't lead them to the post season.

Just remember. You were the one that panicked in May and traded away two of your best players. If you had hung onto them, I wouldn't be surprised if you went on to win a second consecutive title. Instead, you get to watch the biggest loser of the trade deadline walk away with the Stout title.

I didn't panic. Instead, I traded away a contract I should've never offered in the first place. I'm still watching my team perform well, and am shaping up for a much better future.

And nobody said my winners and losers was the definitive voice to abide by. I guess you missed the "shits and giggles" comment. Maybe you mistook it for "bitch and whine"?

All I did was disagree, and its bitch and wine? I think you missed on a lot of your team picks.

I didn't even defend my own team. I should of made a deal. My team has been .500 the last two months and Davenport has been lights out and making deals. I'm just hoping that Lamberts picks up the slack and my pitching can lead me into the post season and beyond.

That's fine. I didn't attack your opinion like you did mine...

I think it's very unfair to say I'm a deadline loser. I expected to be a 75-80 win team tops, and I'm not giving away Haydon or Brown for a guy who won't help me past this year. The only deals that were presented to me involved either trading my 1st round pick or getting rid of top prospects, and as thin as my minor league system is, I didn't feel as though it'd be a wise decision. It's not like I have to rush, either. Buzzell is 27, Gremades is 26, Abe is 27, and Haydon is 24, not to mention a 25 year old Clapp. My window is far from being closed.

I would just like the point out that a thread got ugly, bitchy and whiney (sp?) and I had absolutely NOTHING to do with it for a change.

                      That is all.

I think based on this thread we have to keep Diesel and Sully in the same division once we expand.

If we made realignment decisions based on grouping people with Diesel based on other owners that he has had an inferiority driven outburst towards there would be about 20 teams in Washington's division.

I assume based on the tone of this post Virginia would be part of that division?

I like to think that I would be the charter member. Afterall... I "inadvertantly" forced Diesel into one of the greatest meltdowns in OS history. The funny part is... I don't even remember what I did. Only that I made Diesel cry. In fact, that was the name of my fantasy football team that year - "I Made Diesel Cry"
