  • SIM COMPLETE - 1983 - Regular Season 15

    Next Sim: Sunday March 9th

Great week for my pitching staff which allowed us to make up 2 games against Pitt. We only allowed 2 runs in our last 4 games.

I really wish I had John Gorrie the entire season.

3-3, but I'm only 1 game back now. As usual, hitting was fine, pitching was suspect. Man, if I had one more decent starter and 1 more dependable arm in the bullpen without destroying my budget, I'd be much more confident with these sims.

        AHHHHHHHH!!!

        I'm still 4 games back! I went 5-1 and I'm still 4 games back!

On a positive note my offense has found it's groove as they exploded for 28 runs in 3 games against Philadelphia. And aside from a horrible start from Dean my staff had a stellar sim.

But I'm still 4 games back!!!

I also went 5-1, but so did Davenport. So the standings at the top of the Bock are the same as they were last sim. My lineup did well, my pitching was good, so I'm happy with that performance after our bad week last sim.

Now we just need Davenport to lose some games.

Don Stevens threw 8 shutout innings in his last start and struck out 9 but walked 4. He really needs to get his control in gear for the long run.

Winning sim for my squad, it feels good!

5-1, with a sweep of Washington. I wonder how things would've played out this year if Gorrie stayed healthy, and I never traded Robbins and Dealba.

Regardless, the club is moving in the right direction. The farm is stacked with some great hitting talent, and we're working on the pitching prospects. We have 2 first rounders next year, and might be able to add a third.

Alvarez, acquired in the Robbins/Dealba deal, now has 9 homeruns at AAA and is batting around .290. We may give him a late season look.

Two grand slams for Llombart in the same game this sim.

The big trade with Wilmington seems to be working out for both of us. Dealba is 6-2 in 8 starts three of which he allowed 0 ERs including a 1-0 win in which he out-dueled Franklin. Meanwhile Robbins has 14 homers and 46 RBIs in 41 games since joining Devenport.

I'd be a little happier with a bit more breathing room in the divsion though.

I dropped an extra inning game to California ending a 7 game win streak against my basement dwelling counterpart. Got back on track the next night though.

Not a great sim (as usual) but Delmar Oyos continued his 8 game unbeaten streak.

The Skull took his first real beating giving up 4 earned in 7.1. He did strikeout 7 and only walked 1 though.

My minors are starting to show a little promise. Not sure what I have, but I'm starting to have something.

Definately have some guys I'd like to move at the deadline, but not desparate to move anyone (for a change).

We're going neck and neck for the worst team in the IL... Who's going to take the prize?

You would likely be in your usual spot, 1st.

Pretty sure no matter how bad they are, they don't play in the IL.
