Same thing here. My 5 year old Dell laptop just can't handle it. I have to shut down all programs before starting OOTP or I immediately get a Virtual Memory Low message and my hard drive starts working overdrive.

I export when I need to. Opening OOTP takes too long and it stops me from doing anything else with my computer.

I actually leave the game on at all times... when it's not being used it hardly takes up any space... the problem is when I want to play it, I have to shut everything else down.

Edit: Serious question, I'm not very tech savvy... I was wondering how would I make my CPU run faster without upgrading? Are there programs that make it process quicker?

Wow, 30 minutes to load--that's crazy. On my laptop it takes about 1-2 minutes (1-2 year old IBM) and on my desktop it takes about the same amount of time (3 years old). I think I'd go crazy if any program I use on a regular basis took that long to open.
