  • Teams that haven't exported in more than a week

Seems like there's a lot more teams than usual not exporting.

    Los Lunas
    Baltimore
    Carolina
    Pittsburgh
    Hartford
    Pawtucket

    (Sin City gets a pass)

I've seen some of you posting, but just wanted to make sure you were still around.

Well I still see Liquid, Skerik, JJ, Hrfd, and Mahoney and DK post so I assume they just haven't gotten around to it. It takes my CPU a good 10 minutes to boot up the game. I wish it wasn't so taxing on the hard drive.

Do you have OOTP 8? I find that much, much faster than 2007 was.

You could also archive some of the gay porn on your machine.

Oddly enough 8 seems to run slower on my CPU than 2007 does. But it's also more stable so I guess that's a trade off for me.

The computer is about to be 6 years old. That may have something to do with it.

Can you add any memory? I added a gig stick about three months ago and noticed a big jump in performance for me loading the game. Only takes about five minutes now, if that.

And yeah, that gay porn may be holding you back a little. I suggest an external HD for all of your "happy time" material...

Exactly... in both cases... it's Linty's "backend processing" that is causing the problem.

It takes literally 35-40 minutes to start OOTP and load the new league file, so I only export when I have changes. I'm still around though.

Wow, got a team so good he doesn't even need to bother with exports except on rare occassions. What a life.

I export probably a dozen times per sim on average.

It's not that I don't want to, but not only does it take 35-40 minutes to just load, but it freezes everything else on my computer so I can't do anything else. It's just frustrating as all hell.

I know what you mean as it takes me about that long too but I usually find something else to do (like pace the floor while I worry about how my team did that sim) as it is loading. Maybe we ought to spring for better computers one of these days.
