      In Aurillo's last 9 starts:

      67 2/3 IP, 4 ER, 38 HA, 8 BB, 66 K

      That's insane.

One thing I noticed in Aurillo's last game with me though is that the game does not always charge earned runs to the correct pitcher. Shouldn't the first run I scored in the 7th have been charged to Aurillo instead of Irvin? Or is it me that misunderstands who should have been charged with that run?

I don't think so. Robbins was retired on the Fielders choice, and you can't split the run between both pitchers, so since he was responsible for Robbins, and Robbins was retired, he's off the hook.

Hmm that's a good question. The runner that Aurillo allowed was eliminated by a fielders choice so I'm not sure how that should have been scored.

Despite the out being made on a fielder's choice? I never really paid attention to how this works. It makes sense both ways.

I'm pretty sure that the run should have gone to Aurillo but not 100%.

Sec. 10.16 of the MLB rulebook

When pitchers are changed during an inning, the official scorer shall not charge the relief pitcher with any run (earned or unearned) scored by a runner who was on base at the time such relief pitcher entered the game, nor for runs scored by any runner who reaches base on a fielder’s choice that puts out a runner left on base by any preceding pitcher.

I wish the game would stop awarding holds to pitchers who don't record an out but would otherwise be eligible. I've even seen it award a hold to a position player who came in as part of a double switch in the pitchers slot though I think that was in the 2006 version.

Also, it awards a save to a pitcher who did not play if the guy who should have gotten the save was injured on the final play of the game.

Interesting, I never knew there was so many little stat bugs/mix ups in the game.

Now I feel like going through all my box scores to see where the game may have screwed my guys over, or awarded them extra stats that will help them come arbitration.

Sounds like you should be on the beta testing team...

That brings up another issue; the game clearly makes arbitration awards based upon updated ratings not stats. In the solo league I fool around with during the off seasons here, a pitcher went 20-4 and won the best pitcher award but his ratings took a huge hit and he got awarded the minimum.

That would probably be fun but I get too busy at work late February through April.
