  • Which scout do you listen to?

I have such a tough time when looking at my scout's ratings. Let's say you're looking at a pitcher....head scout has a pitching scout rating of 70 and another scout has pitching scout of 80. Head scout gives the guy potential of 5, 6, 5 and pitching scout gives him rating of 5, 4, 5...who do you listen to? Do you always listen to one guy for hitting, one for pitching?

I wish I would've kept track of which scout I listened to for certain picks so I know who to listen to in the future!

I always start with the composite rating and then look at the ratings of my best scouts and pay special attention to them.

      That's a good idea...I don't look at that too much....probably should more.

For the first few picks I usually look at the composite ratings of all my scouts as well. I'll look at my best scouts for hitting or pitching if it's a tossup between a couple guys, but in general I pick the best player according to all of my scouts. Later in the draft I'll concentrate more on what my best scouts are saying, because there's not many players left that all my scouts like at that point.

I've been burned too many times listening to just one scout's opinion, so I'm hoping I won't see so many busts going this route.
