Well, put him on the Chris Sullivan baby making plan. Then you can draft a Matt Hannigan Jr. in about 20 years.

It's like rubbing salt on my wounds.
Well that was actually edited by Andrew to kick you while you were down.

As I've said in the past, I'm all for editing the injuries database if that's what people want. I attached the one we're currently using. I thing the easiest way to edit it is change the file extension to .csv and open it in excel.

While I wouldn't get rid of every career ending injury (such as head injuries) I think most leg, arm, muscle, etc shouldn't be career enders. Young players should have a chance to recover, although they might never be the same due to ratings hits for extended injuries and increased injury proneness. And for older players these injuries will still be virtual career enders due to the ratings hits they take.

Simmons gets a rare plate appearance....and hits a dinger. Why he's batting? Who knows. Maybe he can play everyday.

Somehow we're in first. If only it mattered.

I'd agree with that idea about injuries, young players shouldn't have their careers ended by some of these injuries, though the ratings hit could be severe enough to effectively do it.

As for Spring Training, the first 2 weeks are a mixed bag for the Tobs. Our big free agent MR Zhi-Qiang Ba threw 10.1 innings and only gave up 1 hit, so hopefully that's a good sign. We lost Colchado for a week, but thats it on the injury list. He was off to a very good start until going down. Our new LF, Chicho Ochoa hit .415, hopefully he keeps it up.

I just hope our season is more like our first week of ST than the second one. We started 7-2 and then lost 6 straight.

Yeah, I could understand if the player had a history of injuries to a specific body part, and just decided to give up, but in Hannigan's case there is no injury history. Same with the other pitcher I lost a few years ago, Robbie Gotay. His career ending injury was his first injury of any kind.

Wow, if spring training is any idea of what's to come, our pitching staff is going to get WHACKED!

                  Sorry to hear that Sully...

And I'm down for editing the file to make younger guys suffer less career enders.

Looking at the csv file, here are the current injuries that can be career enders. Anything anyone thinks should be changed? Obviously its not up to me to make changes, but things like blurred vision and torn back muscles wouldn't seem like career enders for young kids.

Blurred vision makes sense as a career injury.... but it doesn't make sense in the game in terms of the fact that it can't even be a season ender. It's either DTD or it's career.

Young pitcher's undergo career ending injuries all the time IRL although they are usually arm or shoulder problems.

I know Spring Training is not a measuring stick for how the season will go, but the Bandit's 11-4 start has me a little giddy!

                              2 performances of note:

Wayne van Slyke, the dominate closer for Los Alamos, had a heck of a game on Friday 3/19. With 2 out in the bottom of the 8th he came in with men on 1st and 2nd to get the strike out. In the top of the 9th, slated to bat if anyone got on, Wayne dugs in with a runner on 1st (reached on an error). After fouling the first pitch off, van Slyke launched a 405 foot bomb to right center to push the lead to 5. It was only his 5th hit ever and his first longball.

In other news, new acquisition Evererdo Merrera hit a pinch hit grand slam off Tobs pitcher Neal Blakely. Thus far it has been his only high point of the spring but Los Alamos management hope it's a sign of things to come.

Well 4-11 wasn't the way I wanted to start spring training. Plus everyone on the staff except OLoughlin got shelled and no one was hitting. HOpefully Sim #2 is better.
