Baltimore's adding Tandy and Latham to a young offense, and a talented pitching staff. Philly's young, but improving each year. Virginia's a couple years away, but definitely moving in the right direction.

      Next year should be interesting.
Yeah. But, if things go according to the last proposal, Washington and Virginia will likely be leaving the Stout during realignment. So, that will drastically change the dynamic.

I'm surprised too. I offered Samarano 4 years at ~26 mil/year and he obviously declined. Took an extra year I guess. I presume that in a few years, we'll see the salaries go down when owners lock their younger stars at an early age, for multiple years for a hometown discount.

            Baltimore pays Latham $25.5m/yr
            Baltimore pays Tandy $25m/yr
            Hartfords 1983 budget - $53m

I'll be taking my team to the soup kitchen today....not to volunteer, but rather to eat.

Just like in real life, dropping tons of cash doesn't always equal wins :)

François Dupuis has inked a deal with Pittsburgh. Some scouts believe Dupuis comes off as a little arrogant, and questions remain about whether he is really worth $57,040,000 over 5 years.
I'm with whoever said it earlier, no wonder he favored PItt over my $6.1mm contract per year contract.

It's only 4 guaranteed years, and it the last two years of it (not counting the option) are about a million less than what he'll make this year.
