  • SIM COMPLETE - 1982 - Free Agency 6

    Next Sim: Sunday, Jan. 13

A lot of big signings this week.

    Important Note:

I know a lot of people had problems withdrawing offers during Free Agency. If you ended up signing anybody you didn't want please post them in this thread and I will release them without any financial penalty. In the future please PM me if you want an offer withdrawn since the in game system doesn't work.

Big week for me, landed Dupuis, Delosantos, and Drewery.

Wow, 11 per for Dupuis. That's almost double of what he was asking for.

I get a sandwich pick, yay!

I think I upgraded my offense quit a bit signing Albors & Sammarano. Let's see if my pitching can have a decent year now.

Anyone been keeping track of the signings to see what the sandwich rounds are going to look like?

And your defense. Albors is a stud with the glove.

Lot of money being thrown around this year.

I got a a couple outfielders, not big names. Hopefully at least one will be decent for me.

That was the clincher. I thought about trying to re-sign Tandy during FA (he wouldn't negotiate with me all year) and while I liked his SB numbers his defense ratings are low (3-4) and he K's a lot. Albors had 6-7 for 3 different positions and lower K numbers. Looking forward to having him in Dallas.

I think Albors will be a very good signing for you. His glove definitely helped me last season and he hit up a storm for Sully's team on his way to the championship. I would have resigned him but with as anemic as my offense was last season, I needed to sacrifice some glove for some hitting and hopefully Tandy and Latham will increase my run production.

My hope for the offseason was adding Harcourt and Sammarano. Both were still young enough and popular to raise my fan interest while my pitching developed. I lost out on Sammarano, but was happy to bring Harcourt back to Virginia. He instantly raised my fan interest by 12 points.

I have some more potential moves in mind.

Happy to get SOMEONE this offseason.

Lot of bats in the Stout all of a sudden.

Yeah, the Stout is once again proving to be the best division in the BLB. Bad news for me, I guess. I lost a couple guys, and can't afford to sign anyone else. Washington should be tough. Baltimore's adding Tandy and Latham to a young offense, and a talented pitching staff. Philly's young, but improving each year. Virginia's a couple years away, but definitely moving in the right direction.

                          Next year should be interesting.

How do you know how many points it went up? Did you just know what your old fan interest number was?
