I declined his option for this year ($20 some odd million), but the game apparently exercised it and he's still on my roster signed through this season. Since it is a guy I don't want and a huge amount of money, is there anything that can be done? Thanks.

Was it a player option or a mutual option?

OK, to decline a team option i think you just need to release the player. Using the in game decline button doesn't work. I'll just move him to free agency in the next sim.
