Yeah, it seems like they're asking way too much. I'm probably lucky but I don't have anyone making more than $9k on my team (well, maybe not lucky...look at my record). In order to pick-up anyone good I'm looking at $18-$20k per.
But seriously, I'm looking at Rule 5 to help my team out this year as their might be quite a few interesting prospects I'm thinking of taking a chance on.

Not complaining or anything, but something interesting happened with one of my aces from last year Lou Walkup...
Guy was great for me last year until he suffered a huge injury that put him out for 12 months near the end of the year. Well he's still young so I figured I'd want to lock him up for about 5 years.
I think he was asking for about 800k a year, so I offered him 5 years at 600 or so. He turned it down and then I offered 4 years at 700k. Turned that down as well. This sim? He's changed his demands... he wants a minor league contract?!?!
Of course I jumped at the chance, but has anyone else seen a successful player just drop his demands and ask for a minor league contract? I know the game has him listed as a minor leaguer after I put him on the 60 day DL, and that drops him from the 40 man, but I wonder why his demands just dropped off the table like that.
