holy shit, these FA demands are unbelievable.

For the record, $20 mil in 1982 is a solid $43 mil today.

Yeah, it seems like they're asking way too much. I'm probably lucky but I don't have anyone making more than $9k on my team (well, maybe not lucky...look at my record). In order to pick-up anyone good I'm looking at $18-$20k per.

I think the demands will drop.

I find it hard to believe anyone will pay Harcourt the 22 million he wants. That's just absurd.

          dola,

And if he doesn't want to lower then he and whoever else that's overpricing themselves will sit in free agency.

Not that I'm calling for collusion or anyting.

Anyone else wanna blackball the players with me?

But seriously, I'm looking at Rule 5 to help my team out this year as their might be quite a few interesting prospects I'm thinking of taking a chance on.

What's Herbert Dunlop looking for on the open market? He only wanted $17mm a year to be re-signed. I don't have the game at work unfortunately.

Off the top of my head, I'm guessing a little under 20. I can't remember the exact number, but I do remember looking last night.

Not complaining or anything, but something interesting happened with one of my aces from last year Lou Walkup...

Guy was great for me last year until he suffered a huge injury that put him out for 12 months near the end of the year. Well he's still young so I figured I'd want to lock him up for about 5 years.

I think he was asking for about 800k a year, so I offered him 5 years at 600 or so. He turned it down and then I offered 4 years at 700k. Turned that down as well. This sim? He's changed his demands... he wants a minor league contract?!?!

Of course I jumped at the chance, but has anyone else seen a successful player just drop his demands and ask for a minor league contract? I know the game has him listed as a minor leaguer after I put him on the 60 day DL, and that drops him from the 40 man, but I wonder why his demands just dropped off the table like that.

I think it's because he doesn't know what he was asking for before. He only knows how good a player he is now and apparently he's pretty lousy.

So a ratings drop is coming?

                            Sucks for him, and me.

Malachi Stiver's $24mm option isn't looking so bad anymore compared to some of these salaries.

I guess Dupuis is about to see a drastic ratings drop. He was asking for over 6 million per from me, and that number has gone down in FA.

                                Buyer Beware!
