I see Diesel signed 5 free agent catchers this past sim. One was the age of 26. The others were all over the age of 30. He must be prepping his minors for a playoff push...

Wow... $1.4 million for a 40 year old catcher. That should help the economy in the game.

My experiment of playing my prized AAA catching prospect has failed miserably. So I signed the former Washington Bat, Brian Cole. He is 40, but I got him for one year (prorated) at $500K. He is switch hitting, an upgrade defensively, and has a .650 OPS clip, I will be satisfied.

I signed those other four catchers to get a full scouting report on all of them. As it turns out, my scouts aren't high on any of them, and they will probably all be released.

2-1 this sim, but still losing ground.

Lost 2 of 3 to Sin City, merr.

On a lighter note, Howard Haydon (AAA) has increased his batting average to .284, and two of my SP draft picks have been tearing it up. 1st round pick Manny Hernandez left in the 2nd inning due to a strained back muscle, but increased his scoreless innings streak to 10.1. My 4th round pick, Cris Lorenzo, has allowed only 1 earned run in 16 innings, leaving his ERA at a solid 0.56.

2-1, 3 games back. Not sure how I'm still in this race, but I'll take it.

Zander Tillman is settling in after a rough 1st appearance at Lexington. Don Stevens is working deep into ballgames. Rookie wise, its looking alright. Monitoring the big squad is a little depressing right now.

Actually won 2 out of 3 against Maine which is way more than I was hoping for. The game we lost Manuel Puerias threw an 8 inning complete game giving up only 6 hits for 3 Runs (2 Earned) so I can't be too upset about that.

On the rookie front, #5 overall draft pick 3B Victor Gonzalez is hitting a solid .116 with an OBP of .136. He's got 5 singles in 43 at bats with 0 walks. Impressive.

2nd rounder SP Milo Davis has thrown 16.1 innings in 2 starts and has only allowed 1 earned run.

Damn that Bill Fyson. I don't remember him pitching like that for my team.....

Still winning, still happy. Yet another petty injury this sim, still ridiculous. Good first half of the season for the Gamblers. Finally looks like all my moves as GM are paying off. Geake and O'Connelan are playing like the pitchers I traded, Tato is the leadoff guy I needed, Joyce is anchoring the starting rotation, and Lumar continues to be the best cather in the league.

You're in the race cuz we're not very good right now. Wilmington just bitch slapped us. It seems when we hit, we don't pitch. When we pitch, we don't hit.

I'm looking for several players to pick it up, or I'm gonna have a handfull of career worsts from some players. On the downside, McOwl has nowhere to go but down, and he's started to show that. He's WAY over his talent level right now and these things usually even up.

We're fortunate to be in first, that's for sure.

Denver falling apart. Darn those injuries and shaky bullpen.

Same story here. I'm 3 games under .300 and 12 games back. However, things are looking pretty bright lately. I'm hoping if I can get above .500 some of my players will drop the bad attitude about team performance and play better.
