That's Denver's M.O. They had an unreal first month last season and road it to the playoffs.

      Expansion teams stink :)

We had a good series with Denver with two one-run losses but I lost another important player for the season with my slugging 1B Tim Monk. He joins one of my top relievers Dave Beard for the rest of the season. Honestly, that's the last thing I needed. My pitching is starting to settle down, slowly but surely.

The rest of the season will likely me evaluating the long-term pieces that I want to keep and which guys might be expendable. Oh, following the minors will probably be my primary focus now!

Last sim, promising youngster Preston Bowen suffered a career-ending back injury :( He and Dave Balloun (from Windy City) were a formidable middle of the order combo at Mobile. It's a shame, he was close to being called up.

That sucks. I wasn't happy when I lost him to the expansion draft. He was a good player. And believe it or not, I hate seeing an expansion team take a hit like that.

Yeah, he was hitting .313 with a .414 OBP in AAA to start the season. He was on pace for 35+ jacks on the season too. :(

I've had some rotten injury luck this year.

Nice, 4-2 for the sim brings us to .500 for the month and we're on our way. Hopefully I can get another month close to .500. This is getting fun!

Still 8 games back, but a solid 5-1 sim including taking 2 of 3 from Davenport and Carolina and the first 2 of a 3 game set from Windy City. Just gotta keep winning...

All my minor league teams are killing, and that's the important thing.

Lost my good hitter for a month, so oh well.

And still my 1-2 hitters aren't doing a thing. Varada and Zamarida are not playing to their ability.

If they have a great second half...
