I'll be watching him very closely the next couple of seasons to see if you can make a starter out of a guy like that though.
Endurance is a tough thing to judge on a 2-8 scale. We have had guys with 5 endurance (see Dante Geake) make the transition to starter but I'm not sure this will be successful in every case. One thing I do know is that "stretching a guy out" ie increasing his endurance is rare and seems to be somewhat random.

My feeling on Graham is that he's not going to be a successful BLB starter. This is simply my opinion based on the fact that half of my scouts had his endurance rated at 4 meaning he's closer to the 4-5 line rather than a solid 5 like Gonzalez. I just don't think a guy with 4 endurance can throw enough innings to be an effective starter. I don't have the box scores, but I started Jim Botting (4 endurance) in a couple spot starts last year and he never made it into the 5th inning.

Well I'm really interested to see how Graham pans out for me... I mean what's the worst that happens? He becomes a dominant reliever... is that such a bad thing?

Worst that happens is the your scouts turn out to be wrong, and instead of 7-7-7 potential its really 5-3-4...which happens, a lot. Ask Clay.

I understand that getting a dominant reliever is good to have, but it isn't very common for RPs to be selected that high in the draft. But, its far from a bad pick. Dude looks legit.

Oh, and JJLinn is pulling a major Z here.

Also, I probably would have picked Victor Gonzalez if I'd had the first pick though I see now that very few if anyone agrees with that assessment. All of my scouts had him significantly better than the other two top tier hitters.
My scouts had him far and away as the best hitter. I had him 4th on my draft board behind 3 of the starting pitchers. I was pretty happy to see him there at #5. I'm a bit worried that he's only 16 but I'm not sure that his age is even really factored into his development time.

You don't get to play the "pullin' a Z" card when you don't even have anyone in your queue.

Not sure what's with the ages this year. I don't know many 16 year old high school grads and 20 year old college grads. I think this was fixed in the next patch.

I was in school, so I couldn't make the pick, and I just got home. Give me 15 minutes and I'll have it in.

Just for the record, complaining about how long people take to pick is not allowed here. I don't want this thread turning into a bitchfest like the OSFL. We have plenty of time to finish the draft. I don't really care how long it takes as long as we finish before I need to enter it in game.

Well, the ages are not the issues, it's the fact that they then go right to A ball at 16. Kids get drafted before they graduate HS and College, but it's the starting A Ball at 16 that's the issue. Unless you're Dominican... then you get to be 16 till you're 28.

driving to work today I started to worry how much I was going to hate the draft going into the 15 round... I remember how much I hated the bitching fest that was the OSFL draft and I really hope this one doesn't turn into the same deal...

With that being said.. Aaron and Andrew are both great commisioners! And I love being apart of both leagues.
