Maybe they just take a bit longer to join? Unless your an elite talent need to show something in the minors??

My scout is a old school Legendary Tool scout so I'm getting the sense he might overhype the draft in this version. Since he wont sign an extension (best guess he might be retiring) think Pawtucket might seek out a nuetral scout.

I do think 17 prefers that new prospects play a little bit before being evaluated.

One major change in 17 is how OSA does a better job of evaluating talent as the player gets older. So it's possible that this is the case in the draft. Why hype up a 19-year-old kid with no experience over a 23-year-old kid in AAA that's shown 4 years of development?

I was a bit nervous when neither of my first round picks made the Top 100, and "The Artist" didn't even make my Org Top 20...but that seems to be the standard with OOTP17. If Stokes isn't Top 100, I'm not worried. My single-A team is the only Seattle minor squad below .500, so the rookies couldn't come at a better time.

As for the Pilots... Time to make some changes. The trades of Morales, Wood and "Sheriff" opens up a few rosters spots. In addition, Seattle has put a lot of players on waivers this week who they don't plan on bringing back for the 2021 season. Keep an eye out for fringe talent! Still some players available on the trade block as well. Time to start shaping the roster with eyes to 2021 and beyond.

OF Stuart and IF Garnett are now moving to Double-A. That's $54M! Come out and see two guys hate life making more money than you will see in 10 lifetimes!

I wanted to wait until after the minor league All-Star games to shuffle players around but there is going to be a LOT of movement. Top prospect SP Tom "Domino" King will move to Triple-A after just 10 Double-A starts and a month after his 20th birthday. Earlier than I anticipated but the system report says he is ready for the last month, and I don't want to hinder the kids development. With four drafts in our history, I feel we are down to about 10% "filler" in the minors which feels really good. Probably one more draft and there won't be any of those 30+ guys sitting in Double-A/Triple-A bench.

Thanks for all the work Matt. Really appreciate how quickly and smoothly this sim went through.

Really looking forward to what 1B Dave Murphy can do in AAA. After spending 3 seasons in A (He was drafted with 17 years out of high school), one more in AA where is hitting above .300 showing some power and playing great defense. Our Scout says that he is ready to the "Pre-Show" and despite the fact we are not inviting him to Dallas this September, it will good to see what he is able to do.

Tom Driggs is close to play his 2nd All Star Game... Not bad for an UFA released by Denver.

              Ramblings...

In all fairness, isn't this a tad more realistic... Perhaps the top 100 is now based on likeliness, or speed, of reaching the majors, and not simply just who has the highest ceiling, which to me makes more sense anyway.

I alway found it strange that players that are progressing wonderfully in the minors, get dropped by OSA because there are a bunch of shiny new toys on the shelf. Maybe development of the actual prospect will matter more now.

At first I was worried about Sean Gallion not debuting on the Top Prospects list and only ranking #12 on my organizational chart, but apparently #12 is pretty good for this game, so I will take it.

Not really, I think the top 100 is just gonna be different now with older prospects receiving a little more attention. If anything our OWN top organization chart seems to become more useful now. I great player will still be a great player no matter what happens in the minors.

In all fairness not a huge guy with the top 100. Yes we can all see the elite players, but we've all questioned players at times >top 20. I have a "strange" theory that a pitcher MUST least glance the top 100 to be serviceable where hitters I don't really give a dam. We all have our cases, but we had 2B Todd Boyce a 1st rounder draft pick: played really good defense, two time Allstar and career .281 hitter. Never sniffed the top 100 list (and use to drive me nuts)

What I do think will be affected is trade value for certain non-prospect players. How many time did hear "top XX prospect" in a deal?? Be interesting to see GMs try to lowball prospects during trade talks.

I think the best place to see where your prospects rank now is Front Office - Player Development - Ranked: Potential Ratings.

                    Bernardi is my #2 SP.
                    Niebauer is my #1 2B.
                    Brothers is my #1 RP.
                    Embry is my #2 CF.

Fernando Hernandes leads the DL in SP ERA. Ray Davila ranks as the #1 catcher in the BLB. Steve Suares ranks as the #2 RF in in the BLB.

Fernando is 43. Suares is 41. Davila is 37. Incredible.

                          Hernandez is a treasure.

I don't know about the rankings though. Piekarski has outhit Davila, who isn't even catching full-time. And I don't know why Suarez is ranked second.
