4-2 to get us back over .500 and within 1.5 of the Wild Card. I'm probably going to need another bat if I'm serious about making a run, though.

Travis Anthony is a free agent and probably asking for peanuts.

I get nothing out of this. In fact fans will probably revolt once he signs elsewhere. But Ryan was a dear friend I didn't text all the time. I want the best for the Clowns.

The early SIMs used to give me a reason to wake up in the morning. The late SIMs are now giving me a reason to not go to sleep.

I said I thought we'd probably go 2-4 this sim. We managed just 1-5, as we were swept by Windy City before rebounding to steal one game from the Batavia monster. We were 0-4 in one run games this week, so that's frustrating. We pitched well enough to realistically go 5-1 or even 6-0, and yet the lineup continues to be a disaster. We lost 3 games on walkoff hits, and 3 times we lost despite leading in the 7th inning or later with Israel Rodriguez blowing 2 saves in the 9th. I keep thinking that we'll start to figure things out, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

I gave CJ Thompson a spot start, and he threw 7 dominant, shutout innings (we blew the game later). The rookie currently has a 1.09 ERA in 24.2 innings.

We would make the playoffs if the season ended today, but it's hard to see this team doing anything if we can't score 3 runs on a regular basis.

Coming up: We come home for 7 games this week, 4 vs New York and then 3 more against the Muckdogs. 3-4 feels about right.

Baltimore Bulldogs (32-23; 5.5 GB in the Stout, #1 Wildcard in IL)

            3-0 vs LAM
            1-2 at PHI

            The Week in Review

We complete another 4-2 week including another sweep of Los Alamos, but falter a bit in Philly going just 1-2.

-SP Jimmy Cooper strained his forearm in a 4-3 win over Los Alamos and is now out for the rest of the regular season for all intent and purposes. Jimmy is one of my favorite picks in recent years and I want him to succeed, but it seems like he just can't catch a break. I let my manager do a lot of lineup and roster setups nowadays, and he wants to move former Denver lefty, RP Dusty Threatt to the starting rotation. I'm sure Dusty will be happy about this decision, but we'll have to see how he adjusts as this would be his first chance to start in the BLB.

-While I am loving what we are getting from the pitching staff, I'm mostly happy with how our offense gets it done. If you look at our roster, outside of 1B D.J. Gosser, no one really steps up to the plate and instills that little bit of nervousness to the opposing pitching staff. Yet, we are still Top 5 in almost every offensive category which lets me know that this is a good TEAM. I'm proud of how they grind out wins with timely hitting coming from nearly everyone on the roster.

-Next week we head to Batavia for a chance to cut into that 5.5 game lead they have in the Stout followed by a chance to get some revenge vs. Philly at home.

CJ Viger has 10 HR in 16 games since he came back from his injury. I've been trying to avoid rushing him but it might be time

Welcome to Miami J.J. Williams. The Younger Catcher is having a fantastic line this year in San Diego .353 / .431 / .549 / .980 2.9 WAR and 9 Home Runs.

A.J. Landrum collected his 15th Save this Week.

Both A.J. and J.J. will be called up in September, and hopefully for good, so we can upgrade our team with a couple of young players

                      Common experience in OOTP 17...

Why is this player so angry?

[Looks] "He is upset that there are so many slackers/selfish players on the team."

[Thinking] Surely this guy himself must be a team leader or something.

You're part of the problem, motherfucker!

My Bench Coach told me the clubhouse moral is really good right now.

                        They must enjoy losing.

Isn't that realistic, though? Your locker room cancers are the same ones that are going to run around complaining about the other guys. The leaders aren't going to complain about it, they're going to fix it.
