Rumour has it, after touching home base, he immediately ran into the Kodiaks wives-section and impregnated every one of them - much to their delight.
I'm lucky if I get to the third pump in a night, well done that man.

Isn't this the second straight sim with a blowup? Last sim it was your manager going after the press? I wonder if Patton's local popularity can take a hit after something like this. Does the game work that way?

That's 25 wives. So, 3 walk off bombs is roughly equivalent to 1 suicide bomb? I was never sure of the conversion rate. These little things are what I love most about this game.

It is the second sim with a blowup. Last week was manager Elijah Cook blasting the media over accusing SP Joey Guess of "extracurricular indiscretions."

I know some of these story lines do have some impact from time to time. Not sure how these will play out. It's pretty clear this team isn't used to losing and the chemistry is being affected. Ironically, Patton, the OF who yelled at the fans, is one of my few players actually in a good mood. Imagine what would have happened if the fans yelled at one of the players who are angry?

It's a dumpster fire in Seattle.

Is it wrong of me to want Jimmy Cooney to contract a venereal disease?
Dude is killing it in Batavia, putting up insane numbers.

I want to be happy for him, but it's against my nature.
I really hope Flores hits a walk-off in our next game against the Muckdogs.
Mrs. Cooney is going to get the Full Flores treatment. It'll be like an army of fire ants were living in her underpants.

Joey York is going to be an absolute monster. Now I have to fight the temptation of calling him up too early....he's only 20 and he's destroying the opposing pitchers.

That's a hell of a thing. Now I'm wondering how the game creates these things. I'm assuming that there's a random dice roll that is measured against a guy's durability each game or each play that they're in and that determines whether or not they get injured. Then there is some quasi-random formula to determine the story behind the injury, with body parts that have previously been injured being weighted so as to come up more often. I'm wondering if the rake incident was a matter of the guy was due for an injury and got a rare roll that made the rake pop up instead of a torn ligament or something more common, or if these stories pop up through a different function that is independent of the injury formula in order to introduce randomness into the OOTP universe.

Likewise, I'm wondering if Seattle's losses don't trigger a decline in happiness and popularity, which in turn trigger the creation of these stories or if it's vice versa and the stories are created randomly causing the discord and thus affecting the team's performance. I would guess the first, but it's still interesting for me to think about.

Either way, Seattle is finally starting to perform like a recent expansion team should and all is right with the world.

That's actually how this feels. The Pilots were built from spare parts via expansion draft and free-agency with a "Win Now" approach but it was never expected to last. It's year four, but still not one of our 1st round picks has reached the major league level. Help is on the way however as five of our top 10 prospects are in Triple-A with the other five in Double-A. Even with their help, this is a bottom five team for 2020-2021. I'm hopeful in 2022, when Stuart/Garnett's combined $56M is off the books, we will have a decent young core and a bunch of budget room to start trending up in the standings.

Surprisingly, or maybe not surprisingly, arguably our top three performers this season are all Free-Agent pickups who will probably be sent packing by the trade deadline. Without the performance of IF Otero and RPs David Rodrigues/Tom Wood, we might have 5 wins instead of 10 at this point. And that's saying something!

I'm fighting the same urge with Tommy Corr. I just drafted him last year but he's already in AAA and all he does is hit.

                          Holy shnikes!

My scout says he's full-grown and ready for MLB action.

I don't want to start his service time clock just yet.

Matt might already have my vote for GM of the year:

-OF Jamie Urmson is on pace for a 7.2 WAR (FA)
-SP Jimmy Cooney is on pace for a career year (FA)
-SP Edwin Guerrero has pitched three gems in a row (trade)
-I think his 1st round pick could end up a steal if OSA is right
-SP Tommy Sherman might win the IL New Brew
                              -Best record in baseball

Thanks! We'll lose to LAA though. I can't compete with that pitching.

Urmson - I lost out on every single FA bid I made this offseason. When we were are the end I saw a Top Player was still a FA. I made an offer after he said you were offering him $9m, so I offered him $10m. I just wanted to sign someone!

Cooney and Guerrero are the same as Elkind. Good stuff, good movement, high control. I feel like with my D high control works good in my park.

I like my pick. My scout likes my pick. OSA likes my pick. Who knows.

Sherman is a surprise. A 3rd round pick in the draft that I got Ackers and Frederick in. I actually read that draft thread last night. I was vastly unprepared and picked Ackers because I was in a hurry. I didn't even see Frederick. I think I might have been Auto by the time Sherman came up.

We have 5 or 6 guys who are Hot. We'll cool down. Some other teams that are hot we haven't played, we've been feasting on the struggling ones.
