This team could break the BLB single-season record for losses.
My team chemistry/morale is so poor, I'm probably going to have to waive the rental vets instead of flipping for draft picks near the deadline. They are furious playing for such a shit team. At least the Triple-A call-ups will just be happy to be there. Keep an eye on the waiver wire kids.Last edited by Pat; 02-10-2017, 10:55 AM.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

Fixed my DFA.
I met wth LC and Pat in Denver this week. They convinced me to call up SP Jimmy Bires. He came away with a loss after only pitching 4 IP and giving up 3 runs against Maine. Thanks a lot guys!
Maine wont fall off. We're already 2-4 against them this year. I thought this was the year that some of those older bodies were going to breakdown. But they looked pretty good against us.Toronto Canadians - 2004-

3-4. We took 2 of 3 from NY but dropped 3 of 4 at home against Batavia. We are 7-2 on the road, but just 3-6 in Phillips Field. It would have been nice to get a winning week, but I'm still not disappointed about where we are.
We are starting to pick up a few knocks here and there and all of them seem to be muscle injuries. We have another injury in the outfield with William Diaz going down for 5 weeks, while infielder, Dave Garner, is out for two weeks. We're going to try some patchwork to hold us over until everyone is back. Outfielders, Joey Conroy and Jaden Harrington will be called up from Annapolis (AAA) to show what they can do while these guys are out.
We are still pitching well and while we boast an impressive 2.98 ERA on the year, it is only good for the 5th best ERA in the IL. Alex Dominguez and Edwin Carrasco are both still looking like they were worth the big contracts and early leaders for New Brew, while Zack Cook (SP) looks like he's taking the next step to be a real #1 in the league. In addition to all of that, we also look like a better defensive team. We are leading the IL in ZR (+8.3) and have committed the fewest errors so far in 2020.
Offensively, J.J. Hanson (C) is playing extremely well and will probably move to play a few more games vs. RHP. He doesn't seem to be slowing down so now I have to walk the line between keeping the veteran happy and getting the youngster a few more at-bats. Another reason we have played better to start 2020 has been the return of D.J. LaRossa. In 2019, LaRossa had a tough start and never seemed to be able to shake the poor performances. This year his OPS is back closer to what we saw from him in his rookie and sophomore years, so we hope he's able to keep it up.
With our injuries and some of our young prospects still a year or so away, we could use another big lefty bat to play corner outfield. He's got to be a good defender but we are also looking for power. PM me if you have anyone to fit the bill.Last edited by Delandis; 02-10-2017, 02:09 PM.

Losing Pat Webb for 6 weeks hurts. He's a good defender in left and seemed to be heating up.
Luckily, Szymanski has also been playing well as Webb's backup. I hope he will fit right in and not be too much of a negative in left (though he's doing okay there so far).
Now comes the decision on who to promote. Since no one has bit on Travis Anthony, I'll likely bring him back into the fold and use him as a pinch hitter.Denver Bulls

He may be a better fit out of the bullpen. Or just a bad first matchup. I'm a bit worried at this point that he might not make it, but hopefully it's just a rough first game.

In Bats news, I'm really happy with my rotation. Outside of Batavia (posting an absurd 2.01 Starter ERA), we've been the best in the league so far. Somehow, Jaylen Mitchell has been maybe my worst starter so far, which is pretty great. After debuting in the Top 20 Pitchers list this offseason, Dropkick has skyrocketed to #4 on the list, with 3 of the top 8 in DC.
Now if we could only start hitting.Washington Bats, 2013-

I love Delandis's dogged insistence on using LaRossa as a third basemen despite the game insisting for years that LaRossa is incapable of playing third base.Maine Guides

Well that's interesting because I'm pretty sure my scout has him at a 5 or 6. He's got a +ZR for April and no errors.
I'll take it.
