O.P. Williams with a solid start of his BLB Career leads a 4-3 week. 2 games behind Indy. Now the other Williams is back and this should bump our offense.

Seems that KC have our number so far this year, they are dominating the series 4-2

      Anyone think that felt sweet...

Bats Lose to Muckdogs in Walk Off

Batavia starter T.J. Elkind had a strong outing against the Washington Bats at Lawrence Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. At 5-3, the Muckdogs have played well so far.

Batavia won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With one out and Israel Rodriguez on the mound for Washington, center fielder Jamie Urmson hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Muckdogs fans to their feet.

"We take it day by day here," said Elkind, "and today was a good one for us."

I was going to mention that Urmson was probably going to end my season with a walkoff homerun against me when he signed. Good see that he didn't want to wait that long. Too bad he didn't want to take $10 million to stay in Washington.

We went 3-3. The lineup isn't hitting yet and I don't know that it's going to be more than average really. My starting pitchers have been good, though a bit inconsistent. Dave Koehler had a pretty dominant start against Baltimore. Bullpen has been a mess so far, but I think there's plenty of talent out there to expect better results. At 6-6, not much to get too excited about, but it's not a disaster either.

On the prospect front, CJ Thompson has lost prospect eligibility, so I've fallen to 9th on the Systems list. Seemingly out of nowhere, SP Lupe Aguilar is now #86 on the list.

There's something wrong with my lineups and especially my rotation. Guys are pitching out of order or playing when they shouldn't and I can't figure out why. My starters are all messed up. Any ideas?

Why did Calvert start back to back games?

4-3, all three losses to Dallas by one run. My pitching is good at sports.

A 4-2 week for the Brawlers. Pat Brown has cooled off but Sid Mintz kept it up for another week at the plate though his defense has me shaking my head. Also heartened to see those two international free agent outfielders I signed, Tromp and Sun, are contributing.

Welcome to Pawtucket Jamie Coffman!!! (1.1 innings/ 5 hits/ 8 runs) If I had a dollar for everytime I've seen a trade in this league and have a player or team lay an egg the following sim............ I guess there's no where to go but up after that????

Pawtucket 3-3. Right now were 7-6 and a fairly lengthy road trip. Can't really complain I guess.

We keep looking for player via low end free agency and waivers. See if any of these guys can contribute.

                    Stay active I always say.

In game date is 4/20. Hope those that partake enjoy their day and some baseball.

Can't make a determination after 2 weeks. Early returns are fine, that AA squad with Taylor, York, Cook, Stephan, Girard is gonna be nasssssssssty tho

Things are looking up for Morgantown! We rebounded from a 1-5 week with a 2-4 sim!
What's next; 3-3?!? Look out BLB!

Also in the Great Day to be Alive section, Pat Vonada, whom I resigned to stabilize the 3rd base position had his 3B rating drop from 6 to ZERO.
Ahh, the hits just keep on coming in Morgantown.
Good thing I got that bit of news a MONTH after I resigned him.

Mr.Vonada will soon be speaking with the waiver wire.

2-3 but I'm surprisingly happy with the outcome. I knew we'd have trouble scoring runs but it looks like our pitching is playing pretty well overall and has a chance to keep us in every game.

We are having a little trouble scoring runs as evidenced by the 1-2 and 0-2 losses to Philly and Washington, respectively. However, I am encouraged by the start of our pitching staff, particularly the performance of the 200 MM man and our former prospect, Ed Johnstone who was traded back to Baltimore near the end of last season. The two starters are tied for the team lead in K's with 18 apiece. Dominguez has given up just two earned runs and just one walk while Johnstone has not surrendered a run with only 3 walks.
In addition to that, we have 4 pitchers in the pen that have yet to allow an earned run in a combined 25 innings of play. This is definitely not the team from last year.

At the plate, one big surprise has been the start by former Kodiak star, Dusty Filar. Filar was picked up on a relatively, cheap contract this off-season by the Bulldogs and though it is still very early in the season, the 28 year old California native has looked very good with a 1.162 OPS with 2 home runs in his first 23 at-bats. He's taking over the everyday left fielder position after the injury to Jarod Farrow last week, so we'll see if this is real or just a function of a small sample size.

Also, J.J. Hanson continues to hit well through two weeks of play. While it isn't likely that the 24 year old will replace Willie Lara this year, but he will probably earn an additional start or two against RHP every week to help make sure the 33 year old veteran stays healthy for the entire season.

Next week we have a nice litmus test facing the 9-4 Knights and the 8-4 Muckdogs to get a feel for where this team early in the season.

4-3 sim against Davenport and Denver. We're heading into a home stand, so we should be able to get our record right with this next sim.

The real new out of this sim is Jimmy Lee signing a 5 year, $13.9 million per year contract. This offseason he was only willing to talk 1 year and it was closer to $17 million. I would have given him the money, but wanted a longer deal out of him. It worked out, and now he'll be a Blue at least until he's 32. Now I just need Teel to sign on long-term and I'll feel much more comfortable about our future.
