I like 1B Jonathon Zamecnik. He can't field, but at 1B, or DH, I'll take his hitting, if he can maintain any of those numbers. 55555 by my scout and 55666 by OSA. I dunno, what do ya'll think? I'm super new to the game, so having trouble making assumptions about how dudes may turn out.

Spear you sommabitch! I was hoping Dave Snow was still available by now!
I like his intangibles as a 2B, but even more as a pitcher.
Are you planning on using him as both?Brewers League Baseball
General Manager, Montreal Exports, 2009-Present
2015 Brewmasters Cup (+1 over Indy)
Brewers League Hockey
General Manager, Dallas Generals

Grabbed up CF Dave Phipps and C Jimmy Jennings with 4.16 and 4.17. I'm pretty happy that these two guys were still here. I was eyeballing them both in the 2nd round and planned on picking one in the 3rd before trading that pick away. Getting both of them in the 4th makes me a happy boy.
Phipps's big drawback is a torn ligament in 2019, but his injury status is still normal. He is a really good fielder and my scout says he can hit .250 in the BLB. His speed and baserunning are maxed out. For a 4th round pick I'm willing to take the chance that his injury was a fluke.
Jennings is another guy that has good defense and my scout thinks he'll come around with the bat. He's projecting .250 potential with a 6 for power. Those are decent number for a catcher that knows what he's doing behind the plate.
Pat has 6 picks in the 5th round. That's kinda weird.

And with the 93rd pick of the draft, the Bulldogs select: SP Dave Stright out of UNLV.
According to both my scout and OSA, Dave has 3+ potential pitches plus a solid fork ball. The difference between my scout and OSA starts at Dave's ability to control these pitches in the future. OSA gives him a 4 POT in control, while my scout says 6.
Again, listening to my scout.Last edited by Delandis; 02-19-2017, 11:01 AM.

Pat has 6 picks in the 5th round. That's kinda weird.
As far as the 5th round... Ironically, I have 6 picks in the 5th last year, too. It just seems like the easy pick for teams to trade for the rental deadline piece. A lot of teams don't have much faith in the talent pool after the 4th and some even go on full auto by that point. I enjoy the draft a lot. It's a long shot to get anything of significant value in the 5th but some guys do hit.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

I wonder if OOTP17 has more "boom/bust" prospects than previous versions.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

Won't 17 treat their development the same?
