I wouldn't sweat it. There hasn't been a pick so far that I thought was questionable or a reach.

Not even my pick of Jennings?

      • Hey guys I just got off work and I'm dead tired. I'll set my alarm for 3 hours and try to make my pick then.

        Sorry for the delay.

He was on my radar, too. My scout loves him. I'd try him as a starter first and see how it goes.

That was my thinking too, but due to the iffiness I looked for SP elsewhere.

            • I was hoping for Bruce at 2.10. Worst case scenario, you've got a dominant reliever.

              • Pick at 2 EST. Fielding some PMs and gonna narrow my list a bit here.

                • We go Micah Foglia here. OSA (6-6-6-4-5) and my scout (5-5-7-7-4) somewhat line up. Figured he wasn't dropping much more.

                  • I've fielded some offers but tempting though they were I've not moved. I'll give it another 30 minutes in case someone else wants to make an offer but I'm not looking to move down very far.

Foglia is one of those HS prospects that my scout and OSA both like but think he is a completely different player.

OSA (66645) projects to an aggressive contact hitter with gap and HR power, who won't walk much but should be OK at avoiding strikeouts. My scout has him 53673, which projects to a patient hitter who could potentially lead the league in walks while hitting 25+ HR but might also lead the league in strikeouts and might have 10 doubles in a season.

There have been a few of these guys over the years. I remember recently Indy's pick of Gordie Joiner was like that. OSA had him 74448 and my scout had him 55836 or something like that.

                      • He's pretty much a lottery ticket. If he settles on all 5s or does any 2 things well he's a starter in RF as a projection.

                        • C Jimmy McClelland, selected by Davenport, was in a small group of 3-4 guys at the top of my board. Because I don't have a pick in this area I haven't sorted thoroughly but I think he is a really good selection at this point in the draft.

I really like McClelland as well. Good pick by Davenport (who can go eff themselves, btw).

                              • Davenport takes C Jimmy McClelland with it's 2nd round pick. I had two guys that my scout, who I paid damn good money because he is rated Excellent for amateurs, liked a little better than the utility and one guy who the utility had ranked pretty highly but my scout just about said would only be in a major league ballpark as a beer vendor. McClelland had the better intangibles so he gets the pick. My scout called him a valuable asset and his biggest difference in ratings was in Power as he rated him higher. I'm also a little bit worried about how Maravilla turns out since was a top 5 prospect in OOTP 16 and now is in the 50's. Maybe one of the other two will fall to me in round 3 but I'll be watching them to see how bad I might have screwed this up.
