8 infield range is special. There are fewer than ten of them in our entire universe. And it's rare for one of them to be able to hit at all.

Only two are in the BLB now, and neither can hit a lick.

Someone with 8 infield range who projects to be a good hitter is truly special.

Furthermore, shortstops typically hit worse on average than center fielders, so his bat becomes even more valuable when you put him at short.

My scout has my SS Ian Schneider at 8 infield range. It's weird though, he was never high on my prospect list, and he can even hit and steal bases.
