      Well that sucked... A 9 game losing streak, and a pile of injuries, including Brazeel for 5 weeks!

          Made it through the first half of Spring Training without suffering an injury. We also managed to go 8-4, which is better than we usually do in ST.

          Now, hopefully we make it one more healthy sim before the season gets going.

            Went 6-6 which is better than normal for Davenport. Not sure any of my question spots were settled though, and there a lot of questions.

              Team didn't win much but nobody got hurt and I picked up Vega on a one year deal. Works for me.

                  Pawtucket 6-6.

                  All indications are we might have our first losing season since 2009. I think there will be times we will go on small runs with Dave P, Mason carrying us and other times the pitching especially the bullpen will let us down. IF we go on that horrible first half run like season it will spell disaster.

                  Gonna go against the grain of the predictions and say 84-78. Got a few ideas on how to use our limited resources.

                      Spring Trainning in Dallas (Half term report)

                      The good
                      1) Tommy Gantt is earning himself a Spot in the Opening Day´s Roster. The 23 Years old hurler had 8.0 Innings against Los Angeles Dinos + California allowing only a solo Home Run while striking 7, with an ERA of 1.13.

                      2) 3B Ethan Manning, RF Tom Clark. Both youngesters had a fantastic opening 2 weeks of the ST combined for 10 hits, 4 XBHs and 4 BBs. Manning had an OPS of 1.135 and Clark 1.127. While we still deciding for that 4th / 5th IF spot in the opening day. Tom Clark who has no spot in Dallas right now (unless there is an injury), is putting a Show for the rest of GMs in the BLB.

                      The not too bad
                      1) CF O.P. Williams. Hurricane can be devastating when it reaches a city. Not quite yet the 21 year old Center fielder had 5 hits, 2 doubles and 2 Home Runs in less than 30 ABs during this first two weeks. I hope O.P. will be our lock at CF during the next 10 years, however he is too young and doesn´t have the experience just yet. It would help if he can keep this pace.

                      2) RP Tom Stewart. After 8.0 IPs the not so young right handed struck 9 and allowed only one Solo Home run for a 1.13 ERA, despite the fact that his WAR is -0.1 right now, Tom is starting to show glances of what our scout thinks he can be.

                      The not too good
                      1) C Erik Gault. He had his 2nd best season in the BLB in 2019, however this year he seems a little bit rusty. The veteran Catcher put one ball on the stands, but with an OBP of .217 we won´t repeat the 100+ Wins season. We hope he can pick up where he left it last year.

                      2) RP C.J. Arsenault / SP Tom Driggs. One of last year´s best histories was Tom Driggs, the "undrafted" finished 2nd in the DL Pale Ale Award, however this year he didn´t start hot, he must comeback to lead our rotation in 2020. Arsenault was one of the best young pitchers in the league, however an injury did cut short his season, trimming Dallas crown´s hopes. Arsenault allowed 7 hits and 6 BBs in 7.1 IPs.

                      The ugly
                      RP Jamie Strickler, SP Angelo Lujan, SP Pat Adams, 2B Pat Boxwell, 3B Tom Bankston, SS Tom Riechers, SS Ian Moore, CF Norio Okamoto. All of them, off to a bad start. While Lujan and Moore are a lock for the Opening day Roster. Young players like Strickler, Adams, Boxwell and Bankstone are wasting their last opportunity to be a Shark, they are great AAA contributors, but we want to be one of the Top BLB teams, they must produce, if not they will hit the waiver wire.
                      Miami Sharks (BLB)
                      * BLB Champions --> 2017, 2020.

                      Ohio River Sharks (OSFL)
                      * OSFL Bowl CHAMPION > 2036, 2047.

                          We signed Jarrod Rowles to an extension that is a little more team-friendly than I initially thought an extension would have to be. Grateful to keep him in Maine for several more years.

                            Saw a lot of good pitching in ST. Particularly, I always like to see a lot of good control and low WHIP's. Carrasco and Dominguez don't look too rusty and I'm hoping Mr. Cooper has learned to keep the ball down.

                            On the other side of the ball we look super rusty. I hope we are able to clean that up so that we can come out of the gate with a few wins and build some confidence on this new team early on.

                              Signed Haraguchi for relatively cheap. Pretty happy with the offense this year. Hopefully they'll be more consistent. Health will be the key with the pitching- with the continued development of these guys, the rotation actually looks better than last year. Mike Sanchez was a big pickup for our pen too.
