Fwiw, I'm beginning to get my butt in gear, promoting/demoting and filling in gaps with FAs. Wish I hadn't missed basically all of free agency, but I'm not truly complaining. ;)
Stout predicted to be as tight as ever- amazing the parity in the division. I agree Washington is probably the favorite but Batavia is going to make a run too.
With regards to the sim, happy to have signed Dave Dunham. He's a quintessential New York type of pitcher- happy to get him at that price as well. The 6 man rotation has been good for me so far but I may eventually change back to a 5 man squad at some point.
Got a couple value FA's to drive us towards 62 wins:
CL Jimmy Morosco - immediately my scout lowers his ratings as soon as he signs. But, still throws 98 with 69% GB, has kept his ERA below 3.05 for 6 years running, and I'm hoping to get 2 good years out of him before I'm truly ready to compete.
OF Oscar Sanchez - Still has some pop left and can play the corners sufficiently.
SP Fred Kimble - I think this contract is a steal. Nice intangibles, WHIP below 1.20 more often than not, and still under 30. Unfortunately, a top half of the rotation for the current Slammers.
Charlotte Knights - OSFL Syracuse Slammers - BLB South America - 1984 WBC Runner Up
