  • 2020 Offseason SIM 6 (FA5) Complete - Next SIM Wed 2/1

Files due by 4 am ET | 1 am PT

File is up. Reports and Utility shortly.

    Stat of the Day!

    DFA: Seattle, NY, Davenport
    Roster:
    Single A Age:

Please check your DFA's. Since SIMs are longer any players you sign will run out of time in two SIMs. If your 40 man is full then we have to try and DFA a player based on our best guess in order to make room for the new player.

    Offseason Schedule

    2/1 - Free Agency 6 - Feb 16 to ST
    2/3 - Spring Training 1
    2/4 - Spring Training 2
    2/6 - Opening Day

    Reminder

    14. CONTRACTS
    • If Team Option is used the Buyout must be the difference between Option year and highest Guaranteed year.
    • Only one Team Option may be used per contract, and it must be in the last year of the contract. This prevents people from stacking Player Options after the Team Option.
    • Players cannot be signed to contract extensions until after they have received their second arbitration contract. Players become eligible for contract extensions once they have two "Received a 1-year contract worth a total of $xx through arbitration." in their player history.

Check your stadium updates. If anyone else has anymore get them in now, no more once Spring Training starts.

Productive offseason for Vegas. Minus someone headed out the door off our trade block we're done. Looks like a 95 win team depending on injuries. I'm not too concerned about chemistry because we only have two new pieces in Sedivec and Del Rio and both were pleased with the transaction.

Interesting... I made a late night offer for Mitchell with a higher first year salary, higher average salary and more guaranteed years but no opt out in the middle like D.C. gave. I also think his Very High desire for winning came into play. It might end up being a one year deal for the Bats.... and that might be perfect.

Banuelos for $2M? Well done Carlos.

Seattle did sign The Sheriff for $3M. He's Extremely Popular.

        Thanks Matt!

Sheriff is a steal. If I had any roster room he'd be a Scorpion.

I couldn't not offer Banuelos $2mm to see if he'd take it.

I'm content at every position. We traded for Katz and like him to be our starting catcher. He's not amazing but he's a glove and still developing. (We have a lot of catchers and I apologize to everyone asking for some of them but I'm actually extremely nervous about the position and can't figure out which one in the group of Rearden, Collazo, Evans and Katz is going to be the guy)

My up the middle to right infield is made up entirely of my 2016 first round draft. It wasn't intentional. I wasn't sure if Ichikawa would be a CF or 2B but we have so many outfielders (who doesn't) and having him slide in with Healey and Pelloni seems right.

Our outfield is essentially the same as last year with Coffey in center, Webb in left and now Scott moving full time to right. Focus here is on defense. Last chance to ask me for Anthony. He might get cut.

So Banuelos becomes our starting first baseman while I let Szymanski figure it out. I think Szymanski could have been decent there but can't pass up a cheap flyer on a former Denver player that may still be able to hit.

What do we do with Johnson and Slack? I don't know just yet.

A lot to figure out with my depth chart.

I'm happy to get Mitchell. I'd offered him a similar contract as the one he signed pretty much all offseason, so I'm happy to see him finally sign it. It wasn't a "need" for me, but I'm happy with my rotation now. A top 4 of Mitchell, Robertson, Carroll and Villasenor should match up well with anyone in the league. Then plenty of options to fill out the rotation beyond that.

I haven't had a ton of luck with big FA signings before, but I'm more optimistic with Mitchell and couldn't pass up a chance to get one of the best players in the league.

It does put me up against my budget, so I'd like to move Razza or Garton, perhaps both. If anyone's interested, shoot me a PM.

Just a boring offseason here. But we've improved. And we might not quite be done yet.

                  Rolling it back.

                    Agreed Z.
My owner gave me $12M more to play with - AFTER international signings and most FA's were taken. Thanks dickhead.

I'm trying to sign a couple of bats (and hopefully arms) with that cash, but I may just pour it into scouting and development, bend over, and take it hard for a year or two while I rebuild - AKA, The Kodiak Way.

Made a late play for Mitchell but was like $20 million short. Wanted to put him in a 6-man rotation to save his arm/destroy all of you.

Who wants Willie Fajardo? Talks broke down but I'm still a motivated seller...

We added another outfield bat (much cheaper than the two year $40 million deal turned down earlier ) and another solid option for the bullpen to hopefully set up for Gerlach. Both signings are likely for one year, but the option for two is there.

We can't challenge for the division, but hopefully a wild card seed for the first time in forever would be nice.

I just noticed Ed Carroll is now #17 on the Top Pitchers list. Very good to see Dropkick slowly working his way up. I hadn't seen him listed before.

One more sim until Spring Training and still many good players in Free Agency. The #15 hitter and #15 pitcher still available. Zack Reeves (#17) as well, but his injury makes it less likely anyone signs him right now.
